College Football Week 3 Player Prop Picks

Our Week 2 props cashed one after another en route to a 3-0 finish. Nebraska quarterback Jeff Sims gashed the Colorado defense for a 57-yard touchdown run that contributed to his rushing yards going over the total to start our day during the noon slate.

App State’s Joey Aguilar led a near upset of North Carolina in double-overtime while throwing for 275 yards to easily surpass his projected number, and Cameron Ward of Washington State capped off our winning day with a pair of touchdown passes in the Cougars' home upset of Wisconsin.

Week 3 features the first road trips for many of the nation’s ranked schools. Two top-ten teams, Florida State and Penn State, begin conference play on the road and are multi-touchdown favorites.

The Washington Huskies, the eighth-ranked program in the AP and Coaches Polls, wrap up their home-and-home with Michigan State this Saturday in East Lansing as 16-point favorites. The Spartans would do well to cover, given the news that emerged this week leading to the suspension of their head coach.

Finally, the SEC is sending some of its premier teams on the road this week in conference, including Tennessee facing Florida in The Swamp as 6.5-point favorites on the road. The Vols won by five against the Gators at home last season.

Mississippi State is hosting LSU as 9.5-point underdogs during a matchup that the Tigers would benefit greatly from making a statement. They took out some frustration last week against Grambling after an embarrassing loss to FSU to begin the season with millions of eyes watching.
We don’t take any of these precious college football Saturdays for granted and present our best bets for Week 3 of the 2023 season next.

Roman Hemby (Maryland) OVER 78.5 Rushing Yards

The Terps have an enticing matchup against Virginia this week on Friday night in College Park. They’ll be 14.5-point favorites against a team beat up by opposing rushers through two weeks.

Tennessee ran for 287 yards on 55 carries in Week 1 against the Cavaliers, and James Madison followed that with 167 yards on 34 attempts in their road victory in Charlottesville a few days ago.

Hemby is averaging nearly seven yards per rush this year after a breakout 2022 season and is primed for a big night during Maryland’s short week of preparation against a former ACC rival. Let's play this at -105 over at DraftKings.

Jermaine Burton (Alabama) OVER Receiving Yards

The former Georgia transfer has been a big-play threat since his first year of college football and is adding to that reputation with a 2023 average of 24 yards per catch.

Burton has a touchdown reception of at least 45 yards in each game this season and will face USF’s porous secondary a week after he and the Tide suffered a season-altering defeat at home to Texas last Saturday.

Despite our hesitations about Jalen Milroe, this matchup is too good to pass up. The Bulls have allowed opponents to throw for over 700 yards in two games, and those opposing teams were Western Kentucky and Florida A&M.

Burton has the speed to get behind this defense as he has against far more talented units, and we will play him to go over this yardage total.
