Our team has thoroughly tested every DFS app available to identify the best features and biggest issues for every app. We have spent at least one NFL season testing each app, and in some cases, have played every season for the past decade.

Find the details for our review process, testing results, any issues identified, and our overall rating for each app in the reviews below. All of our reviews are updated daily to ensure they remain accurate for the current version of the fantasy app.

#1

Underdog

5 out of 5
Underdog Fantasy

Underdog Fantasy has held our top-rated DFS app title for the past 3 NFL seasons. While we love the look and feel of the app, Underdog stands out due to its variety of contests, including season-long best ball and daily snake drafts.

Vivid Picks

Vivid Picks

Vivid Picks offers a beautifully design app that is easy to use and offers pick'em contests across a wide variety of sports. The payouts are amongst the best (and fastest) in the industry.

#3

ParlayPlay

4.9 out of 5
ParlayPlay

ParlayPlay is one of the newest DFS apps to launch for both iOS and Android devices. The app is easy to use and offers plenty of variety, but what stands out to us are the generous odds boost offers available to new and existing players.

If you love variety, then chances are you will love the new OwnersBox app. Players can find a wide variety of contests that range from SuperFlex salary cap contests to Pick'em contests. OwnersBox is available for Apple and Android devices.

#5

DraftKings

4.8 out of 5
caesars sportsbook

DraftKings has been the biggest name in daily fantasy sports for over a decade and they aren't done yet. They recently announced a new Pick6 game that will compete directly with Underdog and PrizePicks.

#6

FanDuel

4.6 out of 5
FanDuel Fantasy

Like DraftKings, FanDuel Fantasy has been a player in the DFS space for over a decade. Highlights include an industry-leading app and weekly Sunday Million contests with a $1 million top prize.

#7

Thrive Fantasy

4.5 out of 5
Thrive Fantasy

Thrive Fantasy was one of the first pick'em apps to launch in the U.S. Today, they are best known for offering the highest payouts in the industry and one of the better DFS products for Esports.

#8

PrizePicks

4.4 out of 5
Desert Diamond Promotions

With a sleek design and great UX, PrizePicks is one of the best overall apps in the industry. However, a lack of variety and conservative payouts keep PrizePicks from being one of our top-rated apps for 2024.

Key Criteria for Our DFS Reviews

Our team has over a century of combined experience in DFS industry. We have tested every new app on the market and are active players on every app we feature on the EatWatchBet website. Here is what we are looking for anytime we review a new daily fantasy app.

#1 App Design and User Experience

The most important factor to consider when testing a new DFS app is the overall experience. We want the app to look great, but more importantly it has to be easy to use. This is especially critical when you are putting together last minute entries or reacting to injury reports in real time.

#2 Contest Payouts and Rake

With the rise in popularity of pick'em (over/under) apps, it is important to note that not all of these apps use the same payout structure. For instance, a $10 4 pick entry will pay out $100 on PrizePicks and $110 at Thrive. The same is true on salary cap apps like FanDuel and DraftKings, a 5% change in rake dramatically effects the probability that you finish above the pay line.

#3 Deposit and Withdrawal Options

It is important to review the withdrawal options before you make a deposit with a new DFS app. Oftentimes, the payout methods will vary from the deposit methods available in the app. It should only take a minute to verify your preferred payout method is available in the app. While you are researching the available options, take a minute to review reviews from current players to see if there are any reports of delayed or denied payout requests.

#4 Customer Support

While the majority of U.S. sportsbooks offer 24/7 customer support over the phone or through a live chat feature, that is far from the case in daily fantasy. The support options available to you will vary between apps, with most only offering a ticket system. If live support is a must, we recommend sticking with either Underdog or DraftKings.

#5 Welcome Offers and Promotions

Every DFS app available offers some sort of welcome bonus, however, the terms and conditions attached to the bonus will vary between apps. Some will have a 1x playthrough requirement, while others may require you to play through your bonus 25x or more before withdrawing. Make sure you get the best bonus possible, but also take a moment to review the terms before making your initial deposit.
