4 College Football Player Props for Saturday, September 2

We went two for three on our picks last night, which turned out to be a fun night of college football. The Minnesota Gophers provided some late-game heroics provided by Athan Kaliakmanis, one of our favorite picks of the evening.

Saturday’s slate is massive, the first large slate of the season. It’ll be jam-packed with action, filled with top teams looking to make their mark to begin the year. We have four player props for you. Let’s start the college season with a bang, going four-for-four with these picks!

J.J. McCarthy OVER 211.5 Passing Yards (DraftKings)

The No. 2 ranked Michigan squad is taking on Eastern Carolina, and McCarthy’s passing line is only set at 211.5. Are we missing something?

Sure, Michigan is likely to steamroll ECU, we understand that. If they’re up big at half, McCarthy could be pulled to preserve him for the rest of the year. Still, we think he has a great opportunity to fly over his passing yardage total.

McCarthy threw for 212+ yards in two of his final three games during the 2022-2023 season. With any luck, he’ll begin the year in high-flying fashion, crushing this over.

Joe Milton UNDER 286.5 Passing Yards (Caesars)

Joe Milton has the honor of being Tennessee’s starting QB now that Hendon Hooker is out of the picture. Milton was used in relief of Hooker last season, attempting 21+ passes in the Vols' final two games of the year.

In two tough matchups, he recorded 147 and 251 passing yards, respectively. We think Milton will have a great season for the currently 12th-ranked Volunteers.

However, 285.5 is a lot of passing yards, especially against a strong WVU defense. We projected this line to be closer to 250, which is why we’re hammering the under tonight.

Caleb Williams OVER 287.5 Passing Yards (BetRivers)

There’s a reason Caleb Williams won the Heisman Trophy last year. He has continued to ball out for USC, a dominant passer throughout the 2022 season.

Williams’ first game of this year provided a brief snapshot of what his season could look like. He threw for 278 yards, which resulted in four touchdown passes.

He’s an absolute force to be reckoned with, and we have little doubt he’ll throw for more than 300 yards tonight against Nevada.

Blake Corum OVER 78.5 Rushing Yards (FanDuel)

This analysis of Corum is similar to that of McCarthy. Corum was a fantastic rusher for Michigan last season, looking to start the year with a bang.

When McCarthy isn’t throwing the ball, he’ll be handing it off to Corum, who is sure to provide a massive performance in this game. We wouldn’t be surprised if he hit this over by the end of the first half.
