2024 Valspar Championship 2 Matchups and 5 Placement Props

Ready to make some cold hard cash on the PGA Tour? Golf betting expert Bill Christy submits his best bets for the 2024 Valspar Championship right here! Best of luck and enjoy the action!

Sungjae Im OVER Brian Harman (-105)

Sungjae finished the Players at -7 which was good enough for a tie of 31st last week. This week, at the Valspar, he is likely to have his eyes set higher.

With a 4th place finish in 2019 and a 29th in 2021, Sungjae will be back for his 3rd start in the last 5 years. He is facing Brian Harman who has missed the cut here in 2 of his 3 starts.

Harman's recent form is a bit scary as he finished runner-up at the Players, but we are relying on course history more than anything on this play. Let's ride Mr. Im!

Sam Burns OVER Xander Schauffele (+160)

Burns already has 4 Top 10 finishes in 2024 and has yet to miss a cut. Here at the Valspar, Burns has found a ton of success. After winning the event in back-to-back years (2021-2022), he followed that up with a 6th place finish last year.

While Burns has played here the last 5 seasons, Xander has only competed once in 2022 where he finished a respectable 12th. To get a back-to-back champion at so much plus money, we would have to be crazy to pass up this play.

Top 40 Finish: Davis Riley (+200)

Riley has yet to finish inside the Top 40 this season. However, here at the Valspar, he could turn things around.

For some reason, Riley seems uber-comfortable here and has finished 19th last year and was runner-up in 2022. He may not be playing great recently, but we expect Riley to put it together to make the cut this weekend.

Top 40 Finish: Scott Stallings (+210)

Much like Riley, Stallings has had his struggles this season. And, like Riley, Stallings has had success playing here at the Valspar.

In all 4 of his previous starts, Stallings has found his way inside the Top 40 and even finished a best 9th in 2019. We believe the price is right here and Stallings should be able find his form enough to make the Top 40 this weekend.

Top 30 Finish: Sungjae Im (-140)

With his 31st place finish last week, Im should be hungry to get inside the Top 30. He has yet to finish outside the Top 30 at the Valspar.

With Im's recent form looking good, we expect him to compete late into the weekend this week. The -140 price isn't ideal, but the juice is worth the squeeze in this case.

Top 20 Finish: Justin Thomas (-106) (BetRivers)

Thomas has competed in 6 events this season. While he has missed an inexplicable 2 cuts, he has finished inside the Top 15 in the other 4. His course history is not as impressive as Burns, but he is close.

He has competed in 3 of the last 5 seasons and has a worst finish of 13th in 2021. His other two finishes were 3rd in 2022 and 10th last season.

While he is coming off a missed cut at the Players, this track should be much more manageable for him, and he should bounce back with a strong showing.

Top 20 Finish: Sam Burns (-120) (BetRivers)

Like we mentioned in his matchup, Burns has had exorbitant success here with 2 wins and a Top 10 finish last season. He already has 4 Top 10 finishes this season.

A Top 20 here should be nothing but an afterthought as he will be in one of the last groups out on Sunday. This price should be closer to -160, so we'll jump on it!
