Best Bet: Orioles(-115)
What a heartbreaker for the O's last night! Felix Bautista, who has been insanely dominant this season, gave up a grand slam to Kyle Tucker to blow the game for Baltimore. Even with that unfortunate collapse, I still expect a strong bounce back effort from the Orioles tonight.
I give the O's a slight edge in the starting pitcher department with newly acquired Jack Flaherty on the hill. The veteran righty was terrific in his Baltimore debut against Toronto last week and I think the change of scenery was just what he needed. Flaherty's ERA over his last 5 starts is just 2.20.
Cristian Javier isn't a terrible starter for Houston, but I think this Baltimore lineup can do some damage against him tonight. The O's are averaging 8.6 runs per 9 against righties over their last 5 games. Look for Ryan Mountcastle and Gunnar Henderson to do the heavy lifting in a nice O's win.
Best Bet: Dodgers (-124)
As I mentioned in my MLB props article, I like Bobby Miller. He hits around 99 MPH with his fastball and does a terrific job of limiting walks. Miller should be able to keep these Arizona hitters off balance.
The D'Backs have a solid lineup, but they haven't been able to hit a lick here lately. Arizona is only averaging 2.3 runs per 9 innings over their last 10 games. Do you want to know what the Dodgers are averaging over that same period? Seven runs per 9 innings!
Merrill Kelly is a serviceable righty for the Snakes, but this Dodgers roster is batting a robust .306 against him through 207 plate appearances. You just have to love putting money on a lineup that contains Freddie Freeman, Mookie Betts, and JD Martinez. Lay the small number with the Boys in Blue!
