Valero Texas Open Betting Guide Best Matchups and Placement Props

The Masters is only a week away, so most PGA Tour players will use the Valero Texas Open as a final tune-up before heading to Augusta. Check out our betting guide below for all the best matchups and top placement props. Best of luck with your golf bets this week!

Aaron Rai (+100) OVER Akshay Bhatia

Aaron Rai is coming off a 7th place finish last week at the Texas Open and is currently 19th in strokes gained on approaches and 84th around the green. Two of the main stats that fit this course.

He has competed here at the Valero in the last 2 years and placed inside the Top 30 in both. Bhatia was 11th last week in the Houston Open. Here at the Valero, he missed the cut in 2021 and finished 46th last year.

Rai has the better recent form and stronger course history and should be able to outduel Bhatia. This price is a bargain!

Keith Mitchell (-120) OVER Brendon Todd

Todd has missed the cut in 2 of his last 4 starts but is coming off a 33rd place finish at the Valspar. He has an 8th place finish here in 2022 but followed that up with a mediocre 53rd place last year.

Mitchell secured a 17th place finish here in 2021 and a 26th in 2018. He did miss the cut last week at the Houston Open but already has 5 Top 20 finishes this season. He should be able to bounce back here where he has had previous success.

Corey Conners (-120) OVER Max Homa

Conners has not competed since the Players where he picked up his 2nd straight Top 20 finish on the season. He has yet to miss a cut in 2024 and has played well here at TPC San Antonio to say the least.

He is our returning champion from last year and won previously in 2019. His worst finish in the last 5 years here was 35th.

Homa also has been off since the Players where he stumbled to a 64th finish. He has only competed here once in 2019 where he finished 42nd.

Top 40 Finish: Aaron Baddeley (+220 at FanDuel)

Baddeley has had some good finishes here. Nothing outside the Top 30 with a 16th and 18th mixed in there.

He made the cut last week and finished 17th at the Valspar. At almost 2 to 1, he is more than worthy of a play here.

Top 40 Finish: Kevin Streelman (+240 at DraftKings)

At the Valspar, which was his last start, Streelman finished 26th. While he finished just outside the Top 40 here last year, He had a Top 20 finish before that and 2 Top 10 finishes in back-to-back starts in 2018-2019.

We will roll the dice on him here with the value we are getting. It's hard to pass on a tough veteran!

Top 40 Finish: Lucas Glover (+130 at FanDuel)

Glover has finished inside the Top 20 in 3 of his last 4 starts here at TPC San Antonio. He is coming off an 11th place finish at the Valspar and is 10th in strokes gained around the green and 23rd in approach.

He is more likely to be in contention on Sunday than sitting outside the Top 40. This is probably our favorite bet of the week!
