Our MLB Best Bets suffered a 1-2 setback last night. The Mets offense couldn't get anything going against the Yankees and the Rays were surprisingly blown out by the Marlins at home. Thankfully, the Mariners won as an underdog to at least get us one game in the win column.
There are only 5 games on Thursday's MLB slate, but we were still able to find some value to exploit. Check out our 2 best bets for Guardians at White Sox!
Didn't I just swear off betting totals? Oh well, with such a light slate of games, what's a baseball junkie supposed to do? There's a lot to like about the Under in this spot between these 2 division rivals.
We're getting 2 Under teams with 2 solid pitchers on the mound. The Guardians have stayed under the total in 56 of their 98 games this season. The White Sox have stayed under in 50 of 96 games.
Tanner Bibee has been lights out for Cleveland. The 24-year-old rookie is 4-1 over his last 5 starts with a tiny ERA of only 0.80. Dylan Cease has also been tough to hit over his last 5, as his ERA is only 2.20 over that span.
Both pitchers have excellent K-rates, which is something to look for when betting an Under. Bibee fans 24.6% of hitters, while Cease is even better at 28%. With the Chi-Sox in selling mode, this could be a nice audition for Cease. We'll roll with the Under!
With Cease's high K-rate, this is a tough prop to play. Nevertheless, we can't resist it at basically even money over at FanDuel.
As dominant as Cease's stuff has been, he's only racked up 6 strikeouts against Cleveland this year in 12.1 innings of work. Also, this Guardians lineup just doesn't strike out too often.
Cleveland has 5 hitters with a strikeout rate of 17% or less. What's more impressive is that even 2 of their power hitters (Jose Ramirez and Josh Bell) have K-rates of only 9.4% and 20.4%, respectively.
