This is our first crack at a DFS lineup for the main slate of Sunday games. We’re excited to dive into our favorite plays, and hoping to put together a lineup that brings home some cash!
Without any further introduction, let’s dive into our favorite DraftKings lineup for their Millionaire Maker contest in Week 1.
Quarterback: Trevor Lawrence ($6,500)
Fewer players have received the level of buzz that Trevor Lawrence has gotten throughout the offseason. He and the Jacksonville Jaguars are facing off against the Indianapolis Colts this weekend, a game we expect to be one-sided.
The Colts are rolling out Anthony Richardson, who might struggle in Week 1. We believe the Jaguars' defense will keep Lawrence on the field, who should light it up against a less-than-ideal Colts defense.
Running Backs: Aaron Jones ($6,300) & D’Andre Swift ($5,400)
Aaron Jones must love facing the Chicago Bears. In his two games against them last season, Jones totaled 158 rushing yards, 62 receiving yards, and two total touchdowns.
He and the new-look Green Bay Packers have an opportunity to show the league what they’re made of this week, and we’re expecting him to have a big game. Plus, he and Jordan Love have an established rapport, which could lead to big numbers.
D’Andre Swift’s impact in Philadelphia is a bit unknown. Jalen Hurts has been an efficient rusher, widely used as their goal-line back. With the unknown in mind, I do like Swift this week, especially since I don’t think the majority of people will put him in their lineups.
Wide Receivers: Justin Jefferson ($8,800), Romeo Doubs ($4,400), & Elijah Moore ($3,800)
Justin Jefferson. C’mon people. It’s not rocket science to understand that he has one of the highest ceilings of any receiver across the board. We’re expecting a massive performance against Tampa Bay, an instant plug-and-play for this lineup.
Romeo Doubs might be one of the best value plays of the week. Christian Watson is trending towards not playing this week. If that happens, Doubs could erupt for at least eight targets, slotting in as the Packers’ WR1 for the week. Both he and Jones could see massive workloads, making him quite a great play for this lineup.
Elijah Moore has never played a game with the Cleveland Browns. This has drastically reduced his cost for this week, and we simply could not pass up this value.
He is linked to Deshaun Watson, who is slated to take a massive step forward this season. If the Browns throw a lot in their season opener, look for Watson to have a large workload, hitting a big day for a DFS lineup.
Tight End: T.J. Hockenson ($5,900)
T.J. Hockenson and Jefferson might combine for 22 targets this week. After seeing the Detroit Lions beat the Kansas City Chiefs in the season opener, the Vikings will seek a dominant Week 1 win.
This will make them rely heavily on their star players, Hockenson and Jefferson. We think his value is tremendous, which is why we have him in this lineup.
Flex: Christian Kirk: ($5,600)
We had to pick a Jaguars receiver to pair with Lawrence. After much debate, Christian Kirk ended up being the move.
Kirk had four weeks last season in the top 10 of receiver scoring, and he has a lot fewer questions surrounding him than Calvin Ridley. He and Lawrence already have a great connection, which looks to continue in this easy matchup against the Colts.
Defense: Atlanta Falcons ($3,200)
The Falcons play the Carolina Panthers this week, who are rolling out rookie Bryce Young at QB. Quarterbacks don’t tend to have great first weeks, and we’re expecting Young to suffer a few growing pains.
Look for this opportunistic defense to have a few takeaways in this matchup, giving Young a run for his money in his first career start.
