Crazy Bets and Bad Beats from NFL Week 10

It's Monday and y'all know what that means. It's time to relive some crazy bets and bad beats from NFL Week 10. We hope you were on the right side of these.

As usual it was another wild and whacky NFL Sunday! The Houston Texans and the Cleveland Browns pulled off remarkable upsets. CJ Stroud continued his Offensive Rookie of the Year campaign by throwing for 356 yards and a TD to upset the Bengals. The Ravens gagged away a large lead against the Browns and we'll touch more on that later.

Crazy Bet: Caesars Sports Bettor Nets Huge Payday with Raiders +2

Sunday Night Football didn't exactly bless NFL fans with a marquee matchup. Outside of New York and Las Vegas, not too many folks were pumped up to watch the Jets and the Raiders. That being said, one sports investor at Caesars was incredibly interested.

This bettor with a rather large bankroll put $220K on the Raiders at +2. To say this wager took some courage would be a gross understatement. The Raiders were just 4-5 heading into this game and rookie Aidan O'Connell would be the main man under center. Here's how things played out.

The Jets took a 6-3 lead at the end of the first quarter behind a pair of Greg Zuerlein field goals. As you might expect from 2 terrible offenses, the teams once again traded field goals in the second stanza. New York took a 9-6 lead into halftime, which may have sent our crazy bettor into a cold sweat.

Thankfully for him, Daniel Carlson knotted things back up at 9 apiece late in the third quarter. Josh Jacobs then took matters into his own hands for Vegas in the fourth quarter. The former Alabama star rumbled for a 40-yard gain to the New York 13.

Jacobs fumbled at the end of that long run, but luckily the ball went out of bounds, so Vegas retained possession. After two more runs by Jacobs, O'Connell found Michael Mayer in the end zone for the game's only touchdown.

The Jets pulled to within 4 and even got the ball in the red zone with less than 2 minutes left. However, Zach Wilson threw an untimely pick that ruined the Jets chance at a comeback. What a fabulous win for a certain someone at Caesars!

Bad Beat: Browns Dramatic Comeback Burns Ravens Backers in Survivor

The moose of the day went to everyone who bet on the Baltimore Ravens, both with straight wagers and Survivor contest entries. The Ravens had been playing great football and were around a touchdown favorite against the Cleveland Browns. Lamar Jackson and Co. came out like a house on fire, and they led 17-3 at the end of the first quarter.

Unfortunately for all Ravens backers, the Browns started chipping away in the second behind two field goals from Dustin Hopkins. Still though, everyone with a Baltimore ticket had to feel pretty good about their chances, especially after Jackson hooked up with Odell Beckham Jr. on a 40-yard TD strike.

Things started going downhill in the fourth about 3 minutes after Gus Edwards put the Ravens up by 2 scores. Deshaun Watson hit Elijah Moore for a 10-yard TD to bring the Browns to within 7. The wheels continued to fall off just 41 seconds later when Greg Newsome picked off a Jackson pass and took it all the way back for a score.

The crazy thing was that the normally reliable Hopkins missed the extra point. This meant that there was still hope for everyone who took Baltimore in Survivor. The Browns had other ideas!

Hopkins atoned for his missed PAT sin by drilling a 40-yard field goal to complete the upset as time expired. Our condolences to all who had a Ravens ticket yesterday! OUCH!
