3 Underdog Fantasy MLB Props for Thursday, August 3

The trade deadline for Major League baseball has now concluded. Many teams were quick to identify themselves as buyers, while others elected to sell, seeing that their season is likely over.

In the wake of the deadline, there is just over two months left in the regular season. Fans will be anxiously awaiting to see how their favorite teams will fare, and who will make it to the postseason.

With that being said, there are just 11 games on today’s slate, and we’re going to take a look at our favorite player props from tonight’s contest, all are provided by Underdog. Which players will help their team make it that much closer to a postseason berth?

Mitch Keller OVER 5.5 Strikeouts

Mitch Keller has been on a tear as of late, striking out seven and eight batters in his last two contests, respectively. These two high strikeout games came against the Philadelphia Phillies and Los Angeles Angels, both are in the top-ten in strikeout rate.

The Milwaukee Brewers are also in the top-ten, giving Keller a fantastic opportunity to soar over this total. Plus, the Pittsburgh Pirates are coming off a loss, and they’ll look to get right against the Brewers.

We are also expecting the Pirates to provide Keller with great run support, giving him the confidence he needs to stay in the game, mowing down Brewers hitters.

Matthew Liberatore OVER 2.5 Earned Runs Allowed

The Minnesota Twins could be in trouble. After losing Game 1 of the series to the Saint Louis Cardinals, they find themselves just two games ahead of the Cleveland Guardians in the AL Central.

They are in desperate need of a convincing win, given their 4-6 record over their last ten games. We’re fully expecting them to tee off against Matthew Liberatore tonight for a few reasons. First, Liberatore has allowed at least three runs in three of his last four outings.

He gave up four runs to the struggling Miami Marlins, and five runs to the New York Mets. His season hasn’t necessarily gone to plan, which, for the Twins, is music to their ears. Look for Liberatore to be taken out of the game early, but not before the Twins put up at least three on him.

Cody Bellinger OVER 2 Hits, Runs and RBI

One of the biggest stories at the trade deadline was the Chicago Cubs. Many expected them to be complete sellers, with Cody Bellinger being a potential trade piece for them. However, the Cubs shocked MLB circles, acquiring a few pieces, including Jeimer Candelario.

With the team being just three games back in the division, anything can happen. As the Cubs look to make their mark tonight against the Cincinnati Reds, look for Bellinger to be right in the thick of things.

He’s had at least two hits, runs and RBI in the last three games, a trend that we’re expecting to continue. The biggest stars shine in the toughest moments, and we believe in Bellinger’s talents tonight.
