Would you believe me if I said the MLB Season has just over a month left? There are a few division races that are yet to be decided, and it’s looking like they will come down to the wire.
Teams like the Seattle Mariners and Baltimore Orioles have kicked it into gear, while teams like the Texas Rangers and New York Yankees have been in a bit of a free fall as of late.
There are 15 games on the slate tonight, and many of them have massive implications for these playoff races. With that being said, here are our favorite player props from some of the contest’s best games.
As much as I love Adam Wainwright as a person and player, it hasn’t been his best season. He holds an 8.2 ERA on the season, a 3-8 win/loss record, and has struck out just 41 batters in 16 appearances.
That’s just 2.5 strikeouts per game, and Wainwright has only had more than 4 strikeouts in 3 games this year. Yikes. Tonight, Wainwright and the dreadful St. Louis Cardinals take on the Pittsburgh Pirates.
While the Pirates haven’t necessarily been the league’s best-hitting team, Wainwright has just been that bad this season. Look for the Pirates to take advantage of his woes early, sending Wainwright to the showers before he records 4 strikeouts.
I feel like a broken record talking about Bobby Witt Jr. But, he’s just that good! Witt Jr. has been such a great player for this Kansas City Royals team that could lose 100+ games.
There’s talk of a massive extension for Witt Jr., which would solidify him as the face of the franchise. He and the Royals are taking on the Oakland Athletics tonight, one of the worst teams in the league.
Witt Jr.’s last 5 games have all yielded at least 8.6 fantasy points, a trend we believe will continue tonight. He’s prone to stealing bases, and his power is undeniable. Look for Witt Jr. to impress again against the Athletics.
JULIO! After a slow start by his standards, Julio Rodriquez has put together quite the back half of the season. He’s been a driving force behind the Seattle Mariners’ epic run and looks to continue that tonight.
The Mariners have won 7 games in a row and aren’t showing any signs of slowing down. Rodriquez has recorded at least 2 bases in each of the Mariners' last 5 games.
The Chicago White Sox doesn’t seem like the team to shut him out, and as a result, we’re taking his over tonight. Can the Mariners stretch their streak to 8 games?
