3 NFL PrizePicks Props for Friday, August 18

Last night’s NFL preseason game ended in a tie. Does anyone else think they should change that rule? I sure do. The Cleveland Browns and Philadelphia Eagles provided some entertainment, regardless of the final result. We ended up going 1-3 last night on the heels of a monster night from Trey Sermon, and Dorian Thompson-Robinson had a great passing game but was non-existent on the ground.

Tonight, two games are taking place. One between the Carolina Panthers and New York Giants, and the other between the Atlanta Falcons and Cincinnati Bengals.

With just a few weeks until the NFL season kicks off, players are sure to fight hard for their last chances at a roster spot. Let’s dive right in, looking at our favorite player props!

Bryce Young OVER 44.5 Passing Yards

Bryce Young only attempted six passing yards in his Carolina Panthers debut. We’re expecting those numbers to go up tonight, especially when considering how close it is to the regular season.

Young could play for at least the whole first quarter, and might even dip into the second quarter tonight. With that in mind, we believe he’ll do everything he can to get in sync with his teammates, resulting in a significant amount of passing yards.

Look for Young to hit the over tonight, especially if he goes for a deep bomb to one of his receivers who are trying to make the final roster.

Bijan Robinson UNDER 18.5 Rushing Yards

We’re projecting Bijan Robinson’s usage to be few and far between in tonight’s game. Robinson was an early first-round draft pick for a reason and is expected to receive the bulk of the carries for the Atlanta Falcons in the regular season.

Tonight, we believe he’s going to be like your dad’s Corvette in the garage. He might be taken for a small spin, getting a taste of some NFL preseason action. But the Falcons won’t want to risk any dings on him tonight, resulting in less than 18.5 rushing yards.

Plus, there are a few other players on the roster that are looking for as much playing time as possible. Robinson will have no problems yielding on-field time to them, yet another reason for our confidence in the under.

J.J Arcega-Whiteside OVER 18.5 Receiving Yards

Speaking of Falcons players that are looking for some additional playing time, look no further than J.J. Arcega-Whiteside. He put up 20 receiving yards in the first game and is hungry for more yardage tonight.

Arcega-Whiteside was a second-round receiver by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2019 but hasn’t quite performed to his potential. Look for a big performance from him tonight as he tirelessly works to make this talented roster.
