3 MLB Best Bets for Thursday, June 29

After a 1-2 night on the diamond, we're piping mad and ready to make the books apologize. The Phillies started off the night off well with a nice win over the Cubs. Unfortunately, our picks on the Angels and the A's went down in flames.

Here are 3 MLB Best Bets for Thursday, June 29. Keep in mind that 2 of these are day games, so get those wagers in quickly. Good luck with all of your action.

Best Bet: Guardians (-150)

Shane Bieber has nowhere near the nasty stuff he used to, but then again, neither does Zack Greinke. Bieber seems to be the more reliable of the two, as his ERA is 3.69 and Greinke's is 5.31. However, Cleveland's biggest edge comes with their elite bullpen.

Guardian relievers have a batting average against of only .211, while Royal relievers are at .251. Cleveland's bullpen also has massive edges in both ERA and WHIP. Even if this game is close early, the Guardians should be able to pull it out in the latter innings.

Cleveland's offense is also coming around. Though they have pedestrian numbers in some categories, the Guardians scored 14 runs yesterday. Kansas City, on the other hand, has only scored 3 total runs over their last 3 games. Lay the moderate price in this early matchup.

Best Bet: Angels (-124)

The Angels let us down last night, but we'll forgive them enough to run it back again today. We don't mind fading Lance Lynn and his hefty 6.40 ERA. He's still a great strikeout pitcher but he's really struggled in day games (1-4, 8.20 ERA this season).

Patrick Sandoval is nothing special, but he knows how to spot his pitches pretty well when he's on. His hard-hit rate is almost 6% lower than Lynn's (34.8% vs 40.5%). We also prefer the Angels offense over the White Sox.

A few of LAA's hitters have hit Lynn pretty well. Shohei Ohtani, Mike Trout, and Mike Moustakas each have 3 career homers against Lynn. Let's go Halos!

Best Bet: Marlins (-101)

For an early nightcap, let's ride the Red-Hot Marlins, who have won 10 of their last 13 games. Miami has also been tearing it up on the road, as they have a 6-game winning streak on the highway. Meanwhile, Boston has lost 4 in a row and they're just 2-12 at home against NL teams this year.

Miami also got a huge boost to its lineup with Jazz Chisholm coming off the IL. He homered last night and went 3-4 on Tuesday. Chisholm and Luis Arraez should be able to set the tone against Brayan Bello tonight.

Bello has pitched greatly lately, but we still think Jesus Luzardo is a better pitcher. He's got a K-rate of 27.7% while Bello's is at 21.8%. Look for Luzardo to dominate this BoSox lineup with his nasty slider.
