After splitting a pair of baseball picks yesterday, we're ready for more action. The Astros were a nice no-sweat winner for us over the Rockies. Unfortunately, the Guardians bullpen blew a big lead against the Pirates to keep us from the 2-0 sweep.
Here are 2 MLB Best Bets for Thursday, July 20. Good luck with all of your wagers today! Let's get hot again!
Just for clarification, I'm betting a full unit on the +1.5 and a half-unit on the nice +168 moneyline. This Rays team is in trouble, to put it mildly. They've lost 4 in a row and 11 of their last 14 games.
Meanwhile, the Orioles are hotter than blue blazes. They've won 8 of their last 10 games and have overtaken Tampa Bay for first place in the AL East. I hate fading a true stud like Tyler Glasnow, but the great current form of Baltimore simply can't be ignored.
As good as Glasnow is, this Orioles team lit him up for 6 runs back on June 20th. As well as Baltimore is hitting, it wouldn't surprise me if they do the same thing tonight. The key for the O's could be Anthony Santander, who leads the club in both homers and RBI.
I normally don't play totals, but just had to make exception for this one. Both of these teams have been hitting the ball well of late. The Cubs have gone over the total in 9 of their last 10 games. The Cardinals have gone over in 6 of their last 10.
The Cubs should feast off of Steven Matz today. He's 0-7 this year with a 4.86 ERA, which just proves that he doesn't have overpowering stuff. Chicago may also get Dansby Swanson back today, which will only bolster their offensive efforts.
Lastly, both of these bullpens suck! St. Louis relievers are allowing 4.96 runs per 9 innings. Chicago's pen isn't much better at 4.37. This sure looks like an easy Over! Let's ride!
