After a really busy Wednesday, there are only 6 games on the MLB schedule for Thursday. Don't worry, we still found a couple of strikeout props that we like!
Ready for some more winning MLB action? We got you! Check out Our MLB PrizePicks Power Play for Thursday, August 17. Let's get it!
I priced this line at 4, so I was thrilled to see PrizePicks hang a 5 on this one. Skubal has dynamic stuff, which is why is strikeout rate is a very respectable 27.7%. His slider has some good bite to it and is hard to square up.
All of that being said, the Guardians (I almost called them the Indians) have the lowest K-rate in baseball as a team. They have 5 hitters with a strikeout rate of less than 20%. Heck, Jose Ramirez and Steven Kwan both fan less than 11% of the time.
That may be why Skubal's career K-rate vs this roster is only 11.9%. Take the Under with confidence in this one.
It seems like Rich Hill has been in the majors since the Reagan administration. He's 43 years old and still on a big-league roster, which is pretty impressive. Hill's longevity is all because of his above-average curveball.
While I admire Hill in a weird kind of way, I just don't see him striking out 5 tonight against Arizona. The D'Backs are incredibly disciplined at the plate, and their K-rate in the month of August is just 18%.
Hill faced Arizona just 5 days ago and he only struck out 4 hitters. I'm expecting a similar performance tonight from the ageless wonder. Give me the Under!
