3 College Basketball Player Props for Wednesday, February 28

After a rough start to the week, we are ready to get things rolling with our college basketball player props! We'll be the first to admit that we've been ice cold of late, but that's just how it goes sometimes in this crazy world of sports betting. After sweeping the board last Thursday, we've suffered three straight 1-2 days.

Overall, though, we're still sitting at 23-20 on the year. It's time to just keep grinding and wait 'til the next hot streak. Check out the 3 plays we have for Wednesday, February 28 below. Best of luck, folks!

Jonas Aidoo Under 8.5 Rebounds (-120) (Bet365)

Aidoo is by far the best rebounder on this Tennessee team, but he has a tough matchup on the glass tonight against Auburn. Aidoo will be crashing the boards against one of the best big men in the conference in Johni Broome. Both players are similarly sized, but Broome averages a full rebound more per game than Aidoo.

From a mathematical standpoint, we love that Aidoo's median rebounding number is just 7 this season. As always, here are a few more key trends that favor the Under in this spot for Aidoo.

  • Aidoo has stayed under this total in 17 of his 27 ball games this season.
  • Aidoo has grabbed 8 rebounds or less in 4 of his last 6 outings.
  • The Under is 10-4 in Aidoo's 14 home games during the '23-24 campaign.

Another thing that could help our Under here is the fact that Aidoo can sometimes get himself into foul trouble. He's gotten 3 fouls or more in 13 of the Vols 27 games, and he could easily rack up a lot of fouls trying to defend Broome. This would obviously limit his number of minutes on the floor.

Tamar Bates Under 14.5 Points (+105) (DraftKings)

Here's a classic case of the oddsmakers inflating a number just because of one outstanding performance. Bates went off against Florida for 36 points back on January 20th. That's impressive, but it's highly unlikely that he'll shoot almost 71% from the field in this game, especially since this one's on the road.

As for the ever-important value, we like that Bates has a median point total of just 12 this year. We found a few other nice trends in support of our Under below:

  • Bates has stayed Under this point total in 15 of his 27 games this season.
  • Bates has scored 12 points or less on 4 straight occasions.
  • Bates is averaging 13.6 points per game this season.

Caleb Love Under 20.5 Points (-120) (DraftKings)

FanDuel has this priced at 19.5 and as I've said in the past, they're arguably the sharpest book around when it comes to college player props. That tells us that there is value on this Under, even though Love is one of the best scorers in the country.

For the season, Love has a median point total of 19. Let's take a look at some other trends that support the Under on Mr. Love this evening.

  • Love has stayed Under this total in 17 of 27 games this season.
  • He's also scored 19 points or fewer in 5 of his last 7 outings.
  • Love only scored 15 points against Arizona State back on February 15th.

The Sun Devils aren't exactly a premier defensive squad. However, they do defend the 3-ball pretty well, as they rank a respectable 73rd in that crucial category. Look for Arizona State to keep Love under wraps once again in this heated rivalry game.
