After a nice 2-1 evening, we're now 118-88 on the year, which is a new season high. The Braves and Rangers continued to thrash opposing pitchers, which made us very happy, happy, happy. Our sole loser was on the Orioles, who were surprisingly blown out by the Padres.
Let's keep it rolling with 2 MLB best bets for Wednesday, August 16. The Pirates game is an early start time so get those wagers in as soon as possible. Let's go!
Only a true seam-head like me would want to make a play this late in the year in a game involving 2 awful teams (lol). Nevertheless, I think we're getting the better starting pitcher and the better bullpen at a dog price, which is always fabulous.
This Pirates team proved in their series against the Braves that they haven't quit on the season. I'm not sure the same can be said of the Metamucils. Things won't get much better for New York with Tylor Megill on the hill, who is just 1-4 with a 4.40 ERA over his last 5 starts.
Pittsburgh will counter with Johan Oviedo, who struggled in his last start against Cincy. However, Oviedo had only allowed 2 runs in his 3 starts prior to that one. We'll take the P'Rats in this early tilt!
I picked this one up at Betly and I like it quite a bit. Luis Castillo doesn't get much hype, but I still think he's easily one of the best right-handers in the game today. His K-rate is one of the best in the AL at 28.2%.
Kansas City has shown a lot of grit, but they just don't have the horses to compete. The Royals will be starting James McArthur tonight, who will be making his first ever MLB start. Y'all should know by now that I love fading guys in that situation.
Seattle's lineup doesn't overly impress me, but I'm thinking that Julio Rodriguez and Teoscar Hernandez will do some damage early on in this one. Give me the M's on the run line in the first 5 innings!
