WNBA Wednesday Predictions Guide: 3 Best Bets for July 9

We are taking three underdogs to cover on Wednesday night. In the Midwest, Golden State and Dallas are two teams that are finding their secondary scoring at a high rate at this point in the season.

Especially with the Sky playing in a back-to-back tonight, I think Paige and Dallas get a much-needed victory to keep the good momentum flowing. The Phoenix/Minnesota matchup might be a playoff preview. With DeWanna Bonner potentially making her debut for the team, the high-octane Phoenix offense should keep this one close.

Golden State +8.5 over Indiana

The newly expanded Valkyries have gotten out to an incredible start during their inaugural season. The team sits at 9-9 on the year while having no players score over 15 PPG.

They play team defense and move the ball on offense, which might mean trouble for a Fever team that has struggled on the defensive end to start the season. Indiana lost a close one to the Sparks this past Saturday, where they allowed 89 points, letting their foot off the pedal in the second half.

Golden State keeps games close with their pace and team defense, so I expect this to be a tight battle tonight.

Phoenix +7.5 over Minnesota

Phoenix and Minnesota have separated themselves from the rest of the pack out West. The Lynx are simply dominating on both ends of the floor, scoring 85 PPG and letting in just 74 PPG.

They have won three straight against Washington, Golden State, and Chicago, but with that being said, they have not faced a team currently above .500 since June 27th against Atlanta.

Phoenix played this Lynx squad tough in a three-point home loss earlier in the year, and with Kahleah Copper potentially coming back from this hamstring injury and DeWanna Bonner potentially making her Phoenix debut, there is a lot to like momentum-wise for this Mercury squad that has averaged a staggering 97 PPG over their L5.

Dallas +1 over Chicago

Chicago has played games on Sunday, Tuesday, and now Wednesday. They have lost back-to-back close games against Minnesota and Washington. They face a Wings team that has won five of their last eight.

It’s safe to say that the cards are not on the Sky’s side tonight in a matchup between two rebuilding franchises. Dallas is starting to score the ball at a high rate with Aziaha James and JJ Quinerly becoming two key parts of the offense alongside Paige Bueckers.

Before their star-studded matchup with Indiana this weekend, give me Dallas to pull out an away victory here against a Chicago offense I do not trust.
