WNBA Tuesday Predictions: 2 Player Props and Best Bet for August 26

The WNBA season rolls on as the playoff picture gets clearer towards the end of August. Tonight, the Seattle Storm look to hold their playoff positioning against the feisty Fever, trying to hang on to postseason hopes without Caitlin Clark.

In the West, Kelsey Plum and the 17-18 Sparks host the Phoenix Mercury in a battle of elite offenses. Our two WNBA player props and best bet for August 26th are ready to roll below. Best of luck!

F Alyssa Thomas (PHX): Triple-Double (+290)

How about five triple-doubles over the last nine games for superstar Alyssa Thomas? The Mercury point forward has catapulted herself into the MVP conversation over the last month, averaging 16 PPG, 8.8 RPG, and 9.2 APG on the year.

She is top 10 in steals, rebounds, assists, and 12th in FG% this season. Phoenix takes on a Sparks team that has the worst defense in the league, scoring 86.4 PPG themselves but allowing a league-worst 88.5 PPG.

The Sparks’ last three wins have come by 3 or fewer, so I’m looking for Phoenix to walk into LA with a chip on their shoulder and use AT to get the job done.

C Dominique Malonga (SEA) OVER 7.5 Rebounds

Welcome to the Malonga show. The number 2 overall pick has officially put the league on notice post All-Star break. The 19-year-old out of France has played 11 games in August, averaging 13.5 PPG and 7.4 RPG in less than 22 minutes of playing time.

However, over her last three games, she has gone for 15, 22, & 17 points alongside 7, 9, & 10 rebounds. She is an absolute force, and against an Indiana team that plays at a high pace and shoots a lot of threes, Malonga will have plenty of rebounding opportunities in this one.

Phoenix -3.5 at Los Angeles

Phoenix simply has the better team here. Thomas, Bonner, Copper, and Sabally will be too much to handle for the Sparks, who have heavily relied on Kelsey Plum all season long with occasional big nights from Hamby and Rickea Jackson.

Phoenix has beaten LA twice in close games this season, both times without Rickea Jackson and Kahleah Copper. With both teams resting up before this Tuesday night Western Conference matchup, I give the edge to the Mercury as they look to hold their spot at 4th in the playoff race.
