WNBA Tuesday Predictions Top Picks for Liberty vs. Sky

The Liberty somehow look better than they did last season when they won the championship. Natasha Cloud has been a revelation in the backcourt, while Sabrina Ionescu, Stewie, and Jonquel Jones will prove too much for the Chicago Sky at home on Tuesday night.

Best Bet: New York Liberty -17

The New York Liberty are 8-0 while losing just one of four games at home by single digits. This team is as deep as they get, averaging over 90 PPG, shooting it nearly 40% from deep, and allowing opponents to just 71.1 PPG.

The addition of Natasha Cloud has brought a spark to the offense, while Jonquel Jones and Breanna Stewart have continued to play incredible defense down in the paint against opposing bigs. This team is too much on both sides of the ball against a Chicago team that simply cannot score enough points to stay with the best team in the league.

Reese and company are averaging the second-lowest PPG in the league while shooting under 30% from 3-point land. After a 27-point loss to Indiana, the Sky’s season is trending in the wrong direction rather quickly.

Sabrina Ionescu (NYL) OVER 8.5 Rebounds & Assists

Sabrina had a slow start to the season by her standards, but has finally found her rhythm as of late, dropping 24 and 28 points in late May alongside a pair of solid playmaking games to begin June.

With the Sky’s poor shooting from both inside the paint and from deep, Ionescu should take advantage of additional misses on the defensive end as well as gather assists against a defense allowing a staggering 90 PPG to opponents. Sabrina has hit this prop in 5 of 8 games to start the undefeated year.

Natasha Cloud (NYL) UNDER 9.5 Points

Natasha Cloud has been the ideal addition to this championship team in Brooklyn. She brings a change of pace with the ball in her hands and can provide great help defense, cutting into passing lanes and forcing turnovers at a high rate.

Cloud ranks top ten in assists, steals, free throw percentage, and leads the league in plus/minus. She’s the x-factor for this team, yet does not have to score the ball.

In a potential NYC blowout, expect Cloud’s minutes to remain under 30 in this one as New York looks to rest some of their stars as they protect this winning streak.
