A few of the WNBA’s top teams, including the Dream, Lynx, and Storm, take the floor on Tuesday night. While the Dream and Lynx should hold on in games where they are heavy favorites, the Indiana Fever and Caitlin Clark are due for one of those “showtime” outings from beyond the arc in a game they need to win to stop the skid and get back to .500 on the year.
Dream -7.5 over Wings
Dallas is coming off a 3-point OT loss to Washington away from home on Sunday night. After winning two straight for the first time this season, Bueckers’ 20/9/7 wasn’t enough to win their third straight.
On the other hand, Atlanta is coming off two straight victories against Washington and Chicago. They anchor themselves on hard-nosed defense, averaging the most blocks per game as well as the fewest number of turnovers per game.
With a swing in momentum over the last few days for both teams, I’m expecting Atlanta to run away with the victory in Dallas against a Wings team still searching for a consistent identity.
Sparks -3.5 over Sky
How long will it take for books to realize the Sky are… really bad. The spacing is just awful with both Reese and Cardoso on the floor, and with this team shooting just 42% from the field and 30% from beyond the arc in their first 13 games of the year, it is difficult to envision them putting enough points on the board to compete with high-powered offenses.
They have lost six of their last seven, with one win coming against the Sun by 12 points. LA has struggled, losing their last three to three of the top four teams out West. They should get back on track on Tuesday night with both Rickea Jackson and Kelsey Plum pouring it on this Chicago team that can’t score consistently.
Fever +1 over Storm
The Fever are just 6-7 on the year while losing two straight. They still have the 3rd best odds to win the ‘25-26 championship at +500 yet sit tied for 7th place with Las Vegas in overall standings.
Clark has yet to have a string of those “out of shell” games where she goes for 30+ consistently, but you sense that it is coming soon, as she has now played four games since coming back from the early-season injury.
Seattle has won three in a row but has battled to get to this point, beating Vegas by 7 and New York by 10 over the last four nights. They might have some fatigue going into this game with Indiana, whose 3-point shooting should start to ramp up at this point in the year.
