WNBA Friday Predictions 3 Best Bets for August 8

After some massive trades in the WNBA, Friday’s slate feels like one we can get after, especially in the early window with the new-look Lynx taking on a Mystics team that might look to tank the rest of the year out.

Elsewhere, Paige Bueckers and Dallas could give New York some trouble at home behind improved 3-point shooting. Take a look at my three best bets for August 8th below. Good luck!

Washington Mystics vs Minnesota Lynx

Minnesota squeaked by Seattle in their first game after the Collier injury, with their new arrival DiJonai Carrington going 5 of 7 from the field and really making an impact all over the floor on both ends.

The Lynx have had a restful August thus far, playing just two games since the start of the month and winning their last three. The Mystics are nursing a three-game losing streak, with the offense really struggling to find any rhythm.

After a 14-point loss in Chicago, it feels like Washington’s unloading of Aaliyah Edwards is leading towards a purposeful tank for the rest of the season. Minnesota should exploit this.

Best Bet: Lynx -10

New York Liberty vs Dallas Wings

New York has been running into trouble as of late since the Stewie injury. They are 2-4 since July 26th vs the Sparks when she went down in the first quarter of that cross-country matchup.

Even though New York beat the Wings on Tuesday at home, Dallas hung in there until the very end via their 21 Paige points, which included a few big buckets in the fourth quarter. With Stewie still nursing an injury and Ogunbowale struggling mightily last game, I think Dallas pulls it together at home and gives New York a run for their money once again.

Best Bet: Wings +8

Seattle Storm vs Las Vegas Aces

Seattle has lost three in a row. Vegas has won two in a row. It’s a battle of teams trending in opposite directions, but that should change on Friday night. Seattle will most likely activate Brittney Sykes, whom they acquired from Washington a few days ago.

She averages 15.4 PPG and 4.4 dimes per contest and should bring a massive boost to this Storm offense. With Ogwumike, Wheeler, and Diggins trying to shoot through their cold stretch, the Sykes addition brings another dimension to this offense that will be too much for Vegas to handle.

Best Bet: Storm +1
