The top of the WNBA standings will alter tonight as the red-hot Mercury host the Liberty in the desert. With Kahleah Copper’s return, Phoenix has looked unstoppable, winning five straight games while the former All-Star slowly begins to slide into a scoring role next to Sabally and Thomas.
Elsewhere, Indiana tries to avenge their brutal loss last night against the Wings in Dallas. Check out our three best bets for the June 27th slate. Best of luck, folks!
Minnesota comes into this game with just two losses on the year, playing some of the best team basketball we have seen in years. The Lynx are leading the league on the defensive end, allowing less than 74 PPG while blocking the most shots of any team this season.
On offense, they share the ball unlike any other squad with their league-leading 23.2 APG. With or without Collier, this team will win its game via defense, failing to drop two straight games for the first time this season.
Watch for Kayla McBride to step up after an uncharacteristic 0/7 shooting night from beyond the arc.
It seems as if ever since Game 7 began for the Indiana Pacers, Indy sports has just lost all of the steam. Caitlin Clark was out of last night’s game with a groin injury and watched her team squander a big lead at home to the Los Angeles Sparks, who outscored the Fever by 18 points in the 4th quarter.
Indiana won’t let this happen again, considering they shot just 25% from downtown. I’m expecting Kelsey Mitchell to have a big bounce-back game against the Wings in a high-scoring affair. She has scored 20 points in three straight.
How about the Phoenix Mercury? One of my sleeper teams in the preseason, Phoenix has gotten out to an 11-4 start while winning five straight games, including two against Las Vegas and New York.
Now, the Mercury has the Liberty traveling to the desert in a late matchup for Stewie, Sabrina, and company. With Copper’s return, Phoenix and their offense look unstoppable.
They put up 107 points on Chicago a few nights ago without a single player scoring 20+ points. Give me the Mercury to win this game and continue their impressive winning streak.
