Mercury vs Aces Preview: Best Series Bets for WNBA Finals

Mercury vs Aces Best Series Bets for WNBA Finals

The WNBA Finals are set between the Phoenix Mercury and Las Vegas Aces in a desert showdown. After a not-so-convincing two rounds for the Aces, I’m giving the series edge to Phoenix, who are well rested and ready to shock the Aces and use their high-octane offense and depth to defeat the favorites.

Phoenix Mercury to Win (+108)

Coming off victories against New York and Minnesota, this Phoenix team is deep and battle-tested. While the Aces looked invincible after that 50-point loss to the Lynx, which sparked that incredible win streak until the postseason, this Mercury team is connecting at all the right levels, at the right time.

Vegas squeaked away with a Game 3 victory at home against Seattle, 74-73 in the final seconds, and against Indiana, they were on the brink of death and eventually won in overtime in a win-or-go-home scenario.

Game 1/Series Double: Phoenix/Phoenix (+250)

Phoenix has shown its offensive firepower behind Alyssa Thomas is too much to deal with. While Las Vegas is top-heavy, I’m looking at Phoenix’s depth to win this series and give them their first championship since 2014.

With Las Vegas coming off of that highly emotional and physical overtime win against Indiana, I’m giving the edge to Phoenix in Game 1 as well.

Series Leader in 3-Pointers: Jackie Young (+430)

While Satou Sabally is the favorite to make the most 3s in this series, Jackie Young is the more efficient player from downtown and will be a focal point of this offense in the Finals. Young makes 2.0 3P per contest in the playoffs while shooting a high volume (5.3 3PA).

Sabally has shot 34% from beyond the arc this postseason, and with more defensive responsibilities with Wilson down low, I’m expecting her offensive output to drop slightly, as Copper and Thomas will be the key contributors on offense.

Jackie made 7 threes in four Finals games in 2022 and 10 threes in four Finals games in 2023. Expect her to keep shooting away from beyond the arc in this series.
