In Tuesday’s sole WNBA action, the .500 Fever head to Minnesota to take on the red-hot Lynx, led by Naphessa Collier and Kayla McBride.
While the Lynx have the edge in this matchup, watch for a high-paced, high-scoring affair with the current trend becoming more and more scoring and less and less consistent defense as we approach the All-Star break.
With the WNBA schedule becoming a massive talking point during the early part of this 2025 season, we have noticed a trend of players getting exhausted on the defensive end at times during the later parts of games.
On Sunday, we had three games where teams scored 90+ points, and on Friday, the Mercury, Storm, Lynx, and Fever all scored 90+. This trend should continue with the added games, yet still an extremely tight schedule.
Indiana scores 84.1 PPG & allows 80.1 PPG (164.2 total) while Minnesota scores 85.3 PPG while allowing 74.1 PPG (159.4 PPG). With these two squads yet to play each other this season, I’ll take the ‘over’ while continuing to look at this trend as we head towards the All-Star break.
Should Clark take the floor tonight, she is due for an outburst. After returning for just five games after the quad injury, CC missed the last two games with a groin injury.
Without a truly signature game this season, Caitlin truly is due for both her and the Fever. After coming back from the quad injury, she dropped 32 points on 7 made threes against the Liberty in a 14-point victory at home.
In an away Tuesday night game, potentially coming back from a two-game hiatus, look for Clark to be well-rested and put together another great comeback outing.
One player that hasn’t been receiving enough love on this 14-2 Lynx team has been Kayla McBride. McBride has been one of the best shooters, almost mid-way through the year, with 46/41/98 shooting splits.
The guard just turned 33 years old this last week and still has a lot to give to the game, serving as Minnesota’s top guard thus far. She has hit this prop mark in 8 of her last 11 games.
With this becoming a potential shootout, don’t hesitate when taking McBride’s prop.
