Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! Thanksgiving is a great day for three of life’s greatest F’s- Family, Food, and Football. We can’t help you with the first two, but we’re going to do our best on the third one, providing our favorite Underdog player props for the three games on the slate.
The schedule-makers blessed us with three fantastic matchups, starting with the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions, followed by the Kansas City Chiefs and Dallas Cowboys, and ending the day with the Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens. We’ve put together our best props from each contest, so without further fanfare, let’s get into it!
Jahmyr Gibbs UNDER 71.5 Rushing Yards, Christian Watson OVER 50.5 Receiving Yards
In the first matchup between these two teams in Week 1, Jahmyr Gibbs was limited to just 19 rushing yards on 9 attempts. He’s since had several 100+ yard performances, including a monster 219-yard game last week, so Gibbs has among the highest ceilings of any running back in the league. We’re expecting a pass-heavy game script in this one for both teams, however, which doesn’t lend itself to a big rushing day from Gibbs. Considering our expectations for this game, we’re fading Gibbs’ rushing total, believing the Packers will do everything possible to shut him down.
Christian Watson has quickly turned into the Packers’ WR1, especially after all of the injuries they’ve had to their pass-catchers this season. Since returning to the field, Watson has had 45+ yards in five straight games, having 4+ targets in each contest. The 51-yard mark shouldn’t be difficult for him to achieve in this one, considering his big-play potential, so we’re riding with a highly-targeted player in this one.
Travis Kelce OVER 61.5 Receiving Yards
We didn’t love many plays on the Cowboys’ side, but we’re all over Travis Kelce’s receiving line. Kelce has looked great this season and has six games with at least 61 yards. His ceiling is capped by having Rashee Rice healthy and in the lineup, but he’s still one of Patrick Mahomes’ favorite targets, and you can never count him out. Look for Kelce to have a big Thanksgiving Day performance, putting his best foot forward in a must-win game for a Chiefs team that is going to be fighting for a playoff spot down the stretch.
Joe Burrow UNDER 251.5 Passing Yards
Cincinnati Bengals fans were overjoyed to hear that Joe Burrow is back in the lineup for their Thanksgiving matchup with the Ravens. However, Burrow has missed several weeks with an injury, and while we believe he’s fully healthy, he could take some time to get back to his normal levels of production. This could be a back-and-forth battle between AFC North rivals, but we’re fading Burrow’s passing line in his first game back, believing some mediocrity is in order.
