It pains me to say it, but we suffered an 0-3 reverse sweep last night. The Phillies had a big lead over the Marlins, but the bullpen imploded. The Orioles had a chance against the Blue Jays but one of their relievers plunked 2 hitters in a row with the bases loaded.
As you can tell, it was a rough night. That's just the way it goes in sports betting sometimes. Let's bounce back strong with our best bet for Thursday on the Reds at Cubs.
For our lone bet of the day, we might as well ride this sizzling hot Cubs offense. They've scored 36 runs the last two days and shouldn't have any trouble staying hot against Reds starter Luke Weaver. The former first-round pick had a good outing against the Dodgers last week, but he's still a human gas can.
Jameson Taillon is nothing special, but he's a whole lot more reliable than Weaver. Taillon is 4-1 over his last 5 starts with a tiny ERA of only 1.80. He has a good cutter that makes it hard for hitters to get the barrel on the ball.
Cincy has an exciting offense, but Chicago's lineup is more dangerous. The North Siders have 4 everyday players in their lineup with an XSLG of .444 or higher (Patrick Wisdom, Christopher Morel, Dansby Swanson, Cody Bellinger). The Reds only have one player that meets those criteria (Joey Votto).
The Cubbies also have a much better bullpen. Over the last 10 games, Chicago's bullpen ERA is 2.08. Guess what Cincinnati's is? 6.15!!! Let's lay the big number with Chicago. Go Cubs Go!
