Rays at Yankees Predictions 3 Player Props and Best Bet

Two teams in desperate need of wins face off on Tuesday when the Tampa Bay Devil Rays (54-53) continue their four-game series with the New York Yankees (57-49).

Tampa Bay snapped its four-game losing streak with a 4-2 victory over New York on Monday. The Rays chased first-year rightie Cam Schlitter from the game in the fifth inning, owning a one-run lead over the Yankees. An insurance run in the eighth helped Tampa Bay earn just its fourth win since the MLB All-Star break.

New York hasn’t fared any better since their mid-season pause. The Yankees have lost four of their past five games, and a third-straight losing series could drop the Bronx Bombers into third place in the AL East.

Will the Devil Rays or the Yankees come out on top in Tuesday’s matchup? We’ll cover that while providing bettors with our top three player prop bets from this important divisional matchup.

New York Yankees 3B Ryan McMahon To Record An RBI (+170)

New York’s struggles now include temporarily replacing an All-Star player. Yankees manager Aaron Boone revealed that Aaron Judge could be on the shelf for up to two weeks, leaving a definitive hole in New York’s lineup.

Newcomer Ryan McMahon has been working to fill that gap. The former Colorado Rockies player has recorded three RBIs in as many games for his new team. He’s notched 10 total runs batted in since July 18th, making him a prime candidate to earn at least one RBI in Tuesday’s contest.

Tampa Bay Devil Rays 1B Jonathan Aranda To Record A Hit (-200)

Devil Rays first baseman Jonathan Aranda is the team’s most consistent hitter, notching a .314 batting average through 100 games this season. He’s also leading the team in doubles (22) and walks (40), earning a .395 on-base percentage thus far.

After earning just one hit in 10 at-bats against Cincinnati, Aranda notched a pair of hits and a walk in Monday’s plate appearances against the Yankees. Despite having never earned a hit against New York pitcher Max Fried in five at-bats, savvy bettors will take him to record at least one hit in Tuesday’s outing.

New York Yankees LHP Max Fried OVER 5.5 Strikeouts

Coming into July, Yankees starter Max Fried was among the top 20 pitchers in the league in strikeouts. He punched out 104 batters through June 25, while going 10-2 to start the season.

Since then, he’s struggled. The left-hander has recorded only 12 strikeouts during his previous four outings, losing two of those contests. Still, the last time he faced the Rays, Fried finished with six strikeouts in that outing. Expect him to have a repeat performance on Tuesday night, covering this player prop bet.

Best Bet: Under 8.5 Runs

Offense has been at a premium for these two teams since returning from the MLB All-Star break. The Rays have scored 32 runs over the past nine games, and nine of those tallies came in one game against the White Sox.

The Yankees have fared slightly better, averaging just over 3.6 runs per game during their previous eight outings. With two strong pitchers facing off tonight and both teams on losing skids, take the under as the safest bet for Tuesday’s outing.
