Happy Thursday to all! If you watched last night’s NBA elimination games, you watched the Miami Heat and Dallas Mavericks take care of business, moving one step closer to a shot to make the legitimate playoffs.
While we’ll wait until tomorrow night for some more NBA action, we’re excited to talk about today’s MLB slate, which features 10 games. We’ve put our favorite player props together from these matchups, all of which come from Underdog. Let’s get into it!
Player | Prop | Price |
---|---|---|
Bryce Harper | Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs | |
Bryce Harper | Under 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs |
When he’s at his best, Bryce Harper is one of the best players in baseball. He’s a solid defender at his relatively new position of first base, and his hitting stats have been out of this world at times.
Harper isn’t having the best start to the year, batting just .269 this season, which is why we’re fading his hits, runs, and RBI total today. He’s taking on the San Francisco Giants, and more specifically, Jordan Hicks, in this game, a pitcher who he has never gotten a hit off of.
This is a small sample size of four plate appearances, but it’s still something for us to be worried about, taking the under in this spot.
Kansas City Royals fans were excited about Michael Lorenzen coming into the year, believing he would be their No. 2 pitcher behind Cole Ragans, their ace. Lorenzen has had a pretty rough start compared to these expectations, having a 3.71 ERA thus far and a 1-2 record.
Good pitchers don’t stay down for too long, and we’re hoping that Lorenzen can bounce back in a big way in this one, not only coming away with a win, but having more than five strikeouts as well.
The Royals are frustrated and hungry for a win after getting swept by the New York Yankees, and we expect their starting pitcher to have that same fire tonight, mowing down at least five Detroit Tigers.
Mike Trout, similarly to Harper, is riding the struggle bus this season. He’s batting an abysmal .190 and only has 12 hits to this point in the year.
We think a bounce-back is coming eventually, but his slow start could continue against the Texas Rangers tonight, who are rolling out Kumar Rocker on the bump, who has a lot of firepower. With that in mind, we’re taking the under on Trout’s total bases until he shows us his MVP-level self.
