Dodgers vs. Giants Prediction: Los Angeles Looks to Close the Regular Season on a High Note at Oracle Park

The Los Angeles Dodgers head to Oracle Park on Sunday to wrap up the 2026 regular season slate against the San Francisco Giants, with first pitch set for 3:05 PM ET. Los Angeles has already locked up the NL West crown at 99-62 and enters the finale on a two-game winning streak in this series, having taken Friday’s and Saturday’s games, including a 4-3 win on Saturday. San Francisco, meanwhile, is playing out the string at 65-96, sitting fourth in the division and 34 games back of the Dodgers with little on the line beyond pride and evaluating young talent down the stretch.

This is about as lopsided a matchup as the sport can produce in late September — a team gearing up for October baseball against a club that has lost four of its last ten and is buried near the bottom of the National League. Still, the Giants have shown some fight at home, and Sunday gives them one last chance to salvage a series split in front of their own fans before the offseason begins.

What the Market Is Saying About This Finale

Sportsbooks have priced this about as expected given the gap between these two clubs. Los Angeles opened as roughly a -260 favorite on the moneyline, with San Francisco sitting around +215, and that number has held fairly firm across the major books. The run line has the Dodgers at -1.5 (-144 to -152) and the Giants at +1.5 (+120 to +126), while the total sits at 8.5, with the over priced near -127 and the under around -130. For bettors looking at run-line value, the Giants getting a run and a half at plus money is at least a way to get into this game without laying a heavy price on the favorite. A Season Series the Dodgers Have Dominated

Los Angeles has controlled this rivalry all year, entering Sunday with a 9-4 edge in the season series after Saturday’s win. The Dodgers took three straight from the Giants in a mid-September set at Oracle Park by a combined score that included an 8-2 win and a 10-4 blowout, and they added another comfortable win last week behind Tarik Skubal. San Francisco’s lone bright spots against LA this year have mostly come in one-run, low-scoring affairs, and Sunday’s probable starter matchup doesn’t figure to change that dynamic much.

Giants right-hander Carson Seymour is lined up to start the finale, and he’s had a rough go against this Dodgers lineup and in general down the stretch, working with an ERA north of 5.00 across his appearances this season. He’ll be opposed by a Dodgers staff that has been death on Giants hitters all year — Los Angeles starters have combined for a string of quality starts in this series, and the bullpen has been reliable enough to close out one-run and multi-run leads alike.

Offensively, the Dodgers get contributions up and down the order even with a title already in hand. Third baseman Miguel Rojas has been a steady everyday presence in the lineup, providing dependable defense and timely at-bats in the middle infield mix, and he’s exactly the type of role player who keeps this roster deep even when the star hitters get a breather in a game with nothing but pride at stake. On the other side, San Francisco is dealing with a banged-up lineup missing shortstop Willy Adames (elbow), outfielder Jung Hoo Lee (groin) and first baseman Rafael Devers (abdomen), which has forced manager to lean on younger, less-tested bats in the middle of the order over the past two weeks.

The Giants’ offense has managed just enough against LA’s bullpen arms to keep some games interesting, but the gap in overall roster quality has shown up in the results — a fourth-place team facing a division champion missing several key everyday contributors is a tough combination to bet against, especially with the Dodgers already playing loose and confident.

Other Game Picks

Prediction and Best Bet

Los Angeles has been the better team by a wide margin all season, and Sunday’s context — a division title in hand, a two-game winning streak in this series, and a clearly compromised Giants lineup — points toward another comfortable outcome. San Francisco’s fight at home keeps this from being a total blowout, but the Dodgers should be able to close out the regular season with a series win.

  • Prediction: Dodgers 6, Giants 3
  • Best Bet: Dodgers on the run line (-1.5)

Backing Los Angeles to cover the run line makes more sense than laying the heavy moneyline price, especially with a Giants pitching staff that has struggled to keep this Dodgers offense in check all season and a lineup missing several key bats.
