Frankie Montas gets a second crack at this Dodgers lineup tonight when the Brewers host the Dodgers. Frankie has seen this roster once before back in May, where he allowed 3 runs on 4 hits, 3 walks, but only 1 strikeout. Since his trade to Milwaukee he has racked up 5 and 7 strikeouts, but can he find more a second time around?
This Dodgers lineup has been striking out at a top 10 rate over the last 15 days to RHP, top 5 over the last 30, most of those being on the road where the Dodgers find themselves again. Having said that we have seen quickly what the addition of Mookie Betts has meant to this roster. Over the last 8 games, only 1 starting pitcher has found 6 strikeouts against this lineup.
Monta’s current line is set to 4.5 on most books, the beauty of ESPN Sportsbook is they allow for alternate under strikeouts. If Montas can only find 1 strikeout against this lineup with 98 pitches and facing 23 hitters, I do not think he will find 6 tonight. If the Dodgers are hitting and walking, Montas will surely have a tough time reaching 5 tonight.
