ALCS Game 6 Same Game Parlay: Rays vs Guardians Pennant-Clincher SGP

A four-leg, entertainment-first same game parlay for Guardians at Rays in ALCS Game 6, built around Freddy Peralta, Junior Caminero and Yandy Diaz.

One game. That is the entire MLB slate on Monday, and it happens to be a pennant clincher. The Tampa Bay Rays lead the Cleveland Guardians 3-2 in the ALCS, and Game 6 goes off at 8:08 PM ET from Tropicana Field on TBS, truTV and HBO Max. When the whole baseball world is staring at a single game, a same-game parlay is the perfect way to turn that attention into something fun.

Here is the plan: a four-leg Rays-flavored SGP that mixes a safe-ish anchor with a couple of big swings. Tampa Bay is roughly a -138 to -148 favorite depending on the book, the total sits at 6.5, and Cleveland has not named a starter, which makes this a bullpen game on one side. Combined odds change with every book and every correlation adjustment, so build it yourself and check your book for the final payout before you lock anything in.

Leg 1: Rays Moneyline

This is the anchor. Tampa Bay has won nine straight games Freddy Peralta has started, outscoring opponents 49-14 in that stretch, and the Rays are coming off a 3-1 win in Game 5 that leaned on stolen bases and timely hits. FanDuel was showing the Rays at -138 as of this writing, with other books closer to -148.

Cleveland is the wild card here. The Guardians used six pitchers in Game 5 and have not announced a Game 6 starter, though it will not be Gavin Williams, who lines up for a potential Game 7. A taxed bullpen against a home lineup with the better arm on the mound is about as comfortable as a moneyline gets in October. If you want to understand how a favorite price like this translates into payout, our how betting odds work guide breaks it down in plain English.

Leg 2: Freddy Peralta Over 14.5 Outs

Peralta has been the story of this postseason. He is 1-0 with a 0.79 ERA in the playoffs, and his six-inning outing in the last round was the longest of his postseason career. Since late August he has been one of the most dominant pitchers in baseball, and his fastball velocity has climbed to career-high levels over his last several starts.

Tampa Bay has leaned on a shaky bullpen in this series, so the Rays have every reason to give him a long leash. DraftKings has the over on 14.5 outs at +105, which means he needs to get through five full innings and record at least one more out. That is plus money on a pitcher who has been clearing that bar and then some.

Leg 3: Junior Caminero Over 1.5 Total Bases

Now we get to have some fun. Junior Caminero is the Rays’ best power threat after a 42-homer, 101-RBI regular season, and he is projected to hit fourth in the order. Total bases props let you win with a double, a homer, or a pair of singles, which is a lot friendlier than hunting a home run at +400 or better.

Lines on Caminero over 1.5 total bases have been floating in the plus-money range, roughly +140 to +165 depending on the book, so shop around. If you want to hunt the best number before you build, the player prop search tool is a quick way to compare. Against a Cleveland bullpen that has to cover a lot of innings, Caminero is likely to see multiple plate appearances against tired arms.

Leg 4: Yandy Diaz Over 0.5 Hits

Every good parlay needs a heartbeat, and Yandy Diaz has been exactly that. After a three-hit game in Game 5, he is 5-for-10 over the last two games with three extra-base hits, two RBI and three runs scored. He sits at the top of the Rays’ order, which means he is guaranteed the most trips to the plate of anyone on the team.

ESPN had the over on 0.5 hits for Diaz at -240, so this is a juiced leg, but it is the type of price that stabilizes a parlay full of bigger swings. If you want a little extra spice, a Diaz home run was listed as high as +700 at one book, but that is a different, much riskier ticket.

The Full Parlay

Put it together and you have Rays moneyline, Peralta over 14.5 outs, Caminero over 1.5 total bases, and Yandy Diaz over 0.5 hits. The story the parlay tells is simple: Peralta goes deep into the game, the top of the order keeps the lineup moving, Caminero adds the big swing, and the Rays close out the pennant at home.

These legs are correlated in a good way, since a long Peralta start and a Rays win usually travel together. That is also why sportsbooks adjust the combined price, so the final payout will not simply be the legs multiplied together. Check your book for the final number, keep the stake small, and treat this as entertainment first.
