Happy Wednesday, baseball fans! There’s now less than one week left in the MLB season, and there’s plenty to be decided as it pertains to playoff races. Several teams have yet to clinch their spot in the big dance, and we’re excited to watch the chaos unfold over the next few days.
Yesterday’s action was fun, but we’re confident that today should be equally as entertaining! We went 1-2 on our picks from Underdog yesterday, but are looking towards today’s board with clearer minds, hearts, and spirits, and hope to sweep the board. Knowing that teams have a lot on the line today, let’s get into our favorite player props from these games!
This number is far too low, especially for a pitcher on the Kansas City Royals. The Royals need to keep their foot on the gas and win this game against the Washington Nationals tonight, and a solid performance from Michael Lorenzen is a must.
He’s achieved at least three strikeouts in his last four healthy outings, and none of them have been against the Nationals. The Nationals are the worst team he’s faced in a long time, and we love a great bounce-back opportunity for Lorenzen tonight.
Look for him to put the Royals on his back through at least the first five innings, crushing the over on his K total.
Tonight marks the fourth start of the year against the New York Yankees for Zach Eflin. He had a poor showing against them on July 19th but has only allowed one combined run in the two other games against them this year.
He’s on a great stretch of solid performances over the past two months, only allowing 3+ runs in one of seven outings. With that in mind, Eflin should have another great performance against the Yankees tonight, allowing less than three runs to score when he’s on the bump.
Byron Buxton simply cannot be trusted. Not only does he struggle to stay on the field, but he’s inconsistent when he’s on it. The Minnesota Twins are pushing to become one of the wild-card teams, but Buxton hasn’t been a big part of their chase for greatness.
We don’t have any confidence in him to have a big game tonight, and as a result, we’re taking the under on his fantasy point total.
