If you’re a fan of the NBA or NHL, you might not be a happy camper at the moment. The NBA Finals aren’t starting until Thursday of this week, and the Stanley Cup Finals don’t start until Saturday. However, the good news is that there are eight MLB games on the slate today, giving us something to watch, at least!
There are a lot of great games going down throughout the night, and we’re excited to tune in. Here are our three favorite Underdog player props from tonight’s action!
This might seem like a high line for strikeouts, but this is Zack Wheeler we’re talking about. Wheeler has six outings on the season with eight or more strikeouts, and this is a great matchup against the Milwaukee Brewers.
Despite being a solid ball club, the Brewers strikeout at the seventh-highest rate in the majors. With this in mind, we’re fading the Brewer bats tonight in favor of Wheeler, who we hope has a dominant performance in this one.
Wheeler might be facing off against an easier matchup for a pitcher, but Grayson Rodriguez has his work cut out for him. He is going against the Toronto Blue Jays tonight, who hold the fourth-lowest strikeout rate in the league.
They strike out at an incredibly low rate. Even though Rodriguez has some great stuff, we’re not confident in his ability to have at least six strikeouts tonight.
When he’s on, Elly De La Cruz is one of the most exciting players in baseball. He can not only hit for power, but he’s one of the best baserunners the league has seen in quite some time. He is in a bit of a slump at the moment, as he hasn’t gotten a hit in his past three games.
However, good players tend to hit their way out of slumps like this, and we wouldn't be surprised if he has two, maybe even three hits tonight. Look for De La Cruz to hit the over on this total bases line by the third or fourth inning.
