3 MLB Best Bets for Wednesday, May 24

We split a pair of MLB selections on Monday, which runs our yearly total to 43-37 on the season. The Rangers let us down in Pittsburgh, as the Pirates proved to still be a tough out despite their recent regression. Thankfully, the Tigers got the W for us in extra innings against the Royals.

Alright, it's time to start another winning streak! Here are 3 MLB best bets for Wednesday, May 24. Best of luck with all of your wagers today, folks!

Best Bet: Rangers (-111)

Texas may have let us down on Monday night, but our power ratings still have them as the 6th best team in baseball. Pittsburgh has slowed down quite a bit over the last couple of weeks after a blistering start to the season. The starting pitching matchup in this one is about even, but we trust the Texas lineup a whole lot more than Pittsburgh's.

The crazy thing is that this Rangers offense is even better now that Corey Seager is back in the lineup. He's hitting .400 over his last 7 games with a couple of bombs. Also, don't forget about Josh Jung, who is 2nd on the team with 11 homers.

Martin Perez's current form does scare us a bit, but the offensive advantage that Texas has makes us confident enough to pull the trigger on this one. Let's play Texas at this short price.

Best Bet: Cardinals (-148)

After an awful start to the season, this Cardinals team is alive and well. They've won 7 of their last 10 games and their lineup continues to hit well. St. Louis ranks 4th in OPS and 5th in both runs scored and homers. Nolan Gorman leads the club with 13 home runs and 39 RBI.

The Reds are a feisty ball club, but they've only won 3 of their last 10. Cincy does hit lefties pretty well, but Steven Matz is in great current form. His ERA is only 2.35 over his last 3 starts.

As far as the bullpens go, we'd give a slight edge to St. Louis in that department. The Cards' relievers are only allowing their opponents to hit .225 against them. The price is a bit juicy, but we'll still take St. Louie!

Best Bet: Mariners -1.5 (-121)

Oh yes, the good ole Fade A's train is back! Oakland blew a late lead against the Mariners yesterday, and that's the kind of loss that can linger a day or two. We're expecting an emphatic win for Seattle in this one.

We've made some money fading Ken Waldichuk this season and don't mind trying to do so once again in this spot. The Oakland lefty is 1-3 with a 6.85 ERA and a WHIP of 1.85! That high of a WHIP is particularly concerning because it indicates a complete lack of command.

Seattle counters with their young ace Bryce Miller, who has been fantastic this season. The young fireballer is 2-1 with an ERA of only 1.42. The Mariners also have a gigantic bullpen edge. They'll win this one going away!
