3 MLB Best Bets for Thursday, July 6

After back-to-back 2-0 sweeps this week, we're looking to stay in the zone! The Reds blew out the lowly Nats in a nice early game winner. Our late game pick also got home as the Dodgers and Pirates just barely scored enough to send the game over the posted total.

It's been a great start to the week, and we're excited about today's card. Here are 3 MLB Best Bets for Thursday, July 6. Let's keep the W train chugging!

Best Bet: Reds (+113)

Here we go again with the Reds, and this one is an early start time so get those bets in quickly. Cincy continues to get no respect from the market and we'll keep riding them until the oddsmakers adjust. I get that Washington has a better starting pitcher in this one, but that was also the case yesterday in Cincinnati's blowout win.

Nationals starter Mackenzie Gore is better than Reds starter Brandon Williamson. However, Gore got rocked by the Phillies during his last start and gave up 7 runs. Williamson's season-long numbers are scary, but he's been more consistent lately. Cincy also has a much stronger bullpen (3.97 ERA vs 5.05).

The main reason for the play though is this Reds offense, which has been insanely hot lately. Cincinnati is averaging 7.6 runs per game against left-handers over their last 5 games. Elly De La Cruz and Joey Votto homered last night, and we see them carrying the Reds to another victory today.

Best Bet: Marlins (-128)

This price is way too cheap on a young stud like Eury Perez. Sure, he got rocked in his last start against the Braves, but that's forgivable. The 20-year-old righty has an upper 90s fastball and a highly impressive K-rate of 28%. Perez should be able to carve up this Cardinals lineup.

Something is wrong with Jack Flaherty. He's went from being a Cy Young candidate a few years ago to having a ton of command issues. Flaherty's 12.1% walk-rate is alarming to say the least and may be an indication that he's not completely over his shoulder issues.

This Miami offense is on fire, as they're averaging 10 runs per game during this series. Look for Jorge Soler, who ranks 6th in MLB with 22 homers, to come up big in this one. Go Fish!

Best Bet: Rangers (-130)

Texas has been scuffling a bit lately, but they're still a Top 5 team with a very dangerous offense. Boston is a decent team, but we made this line closer to -145, even with the Rangers poor current form. Nate Eovaldi will be looking for some revenge against his former team, which is a nice plus in our favor.

Eovaldi is 10-3 with a 2.64 ERA and he may end up being the AL starter in the All-Star Game next week. Kutter Crawford has a couple of nice pitches, but he's given up 4 homers over his last 2 starts. That won't fare well against a Rangers offense that can really pound the baseball.

Corey Seager has been swinging a hot bat lately, as he's hitting .392 over his last 24 games. Adolis Garcia leads the majors in RBI with 71. Look for these two sluggers to lead Texas to a W tonight!
