Have a little bit of an Easter hangover? You're not alone! I, for one, ate way too much peanut butter pie and crashed out early during Sunday Night Baseball. All in all, though, it was good to have a couple of days off.
We'll be the first to admit that our MLB player props have been struggling a bit lately. We went 0-2 last Friday, which ran our year-to-date total to only 4-6. Marcus Stroman of the Cubs busted our Under ticket by the dreaded hook by striking out 6 hitters. Tyler O'Neill also failed to get a hit for the Cardinals to burn our total bases prop on him.
In case you haven't been told before, MLB betting is the ultimate grind. Here are 2 MLB PrizePicks Props for Monday, April 10, to get you back on track. Good luck with all of your plays!
German struck out 8 hitters in his 2023 debut last week against Philadelphia. While that stat is impressive, German also gave up 2 home runs to the Phillies lineup. Cleveland has some boppers that can rough up German just as easily. If that happens, the 30-year-old could be making another early exit from this game.
Another reason we like this Under is that the Guardians put the ball in play quite often. Only 2 players in the Cleveland lineup strikeout higher than 20% of the time. Also, Guardian hitters Josh Bell, Josh Naylor, and Andres Gimenez are all batting .333 in their careers against German.
German only averaged 0.8 strikeouts per inning in 2022. If he stays true to that form, German will have to last 6 of 7 innings to bust this Under. We don't see that happening, as our projected total for German is 4.0.
There is some strong market support behind this play as well. FanDuel is pricing the Under at -156, while BetRivers isn't too far behind at -152. Let's ride the Under in this late afternoon game.
Webb's 2023 season isn't off to a great start! He's been roughed up quite a bit and has an ERA of 6.55. That being said, Webb hasn't forgotten how to strike out hitters. He's racked up 16 strikeouts in only 2 starts so far this year.
The Dodgers' lineup is jam-packed with some powerful hitters. However, these guys strike out a ton, which makes us love this Over! Three Los Angeles hitters strike out at a clip of 31% or higher. Max Muncy leads the way in that camp, as he's striking out 39% of the time so far this season. Webb may give up some runs, but he should be able to punch out at least 5 Dodgers late tonight.
Last season, Webb averaged 5.1 strikeouts per start. Even better than that, he racked up 5 strikeouts or more in 22 of 32 starts. It makes sense that FanDuel is juicing the Over at -152. We'll follow their lead and play the Over! Let's bust out of this slump tonight, folks!
