2 MLB Best Bets for Wednesday, June 7

There's a tear in our beer this morning after our MLB winning streak came to an end last night. The Padres bats continued to ride the struggle bus in a loss to the Mariners. The Orioles suffered a heartbreaking loss in 10 innings against the Brewers.

Thankfully, the Rangers got the job done against the Cardinals to prevent the reverse sweep. Anyways, it's time to start a new winning streak. Here are 2 MLB best bets for Wednesday, June 7. Let's ride!

Best Bet: Marlins (-170)

Woooohooo! It's Fade Jordan Lyles Day! We know the juice is high, but it's worth it in this case. The Royals are 0-12 this season when Lyles is the starter, and there's no reason to think that trend ends tonight in Miami.

The 32-year-old right-hander is 0-9 with an ERA of 6.89. In other words, Lyles has been a human gas can start the season. That's not good news for Royals fans, especially with the way the Marlins have been hitting the ball of late.

Miami has an OPS of .835 over the last 2 weeks. A lot of that is due to Luis Arraez, who leads the majors with a .401 batting average. It's been more than 80 years since a player hit .400 for a season (Ted Williams in 1941). Hopefully Arraez stays hot, because that'd be a fun story to follow all summer.

In the end, we're getting the better team that's in much better current form, so we don't mind paying the juice with Miami. The Marlins have won 8 of 10 and they'll keep rolling with a sweep of the Royals tonight.

Best Bet: Rangers (-136)

Might as well keep riding the Rangers until the oddsmakers start making some adjustments on them. Texas is 7-1 over their last 8 and they're scoring almost 6.5 runs a game against right-handers. Marcus Semien extended his hitting streak to an MLB best 25 games last night with a 2-run double that broke the game open for the Rangers.

The Rangers have won 40 games already this season. The only other team in MLB with 40 or more wins is the Tampa Bay Rays. Look for Texas to stay hot tonight against St. Louis, who is going in the opposite direction. The Cards have won only 2 of their last 10 ball games.

Jon Gray is on the hill for Texas tonight, and he's been lights out lately. He's won 5 starts in a row and has a tiny ERA of 0.79 during that span. We'll play Texas at this cheap price once again. Good luck!
