2 MLB Best Bets for Monday, June 5

We're fresh off a 3-0 sweep and hungry for more wins! The best part was that all 3 of our wins on Friday were of the rocking chair variety.

The Rangers, Rockies, and Dodgers all got home relatively easily. We're now 54-45 on the season and hopefully at the beginning of another epic run!

Let's start the week off right with 2 MLB Best Bets for Monday, June 5. Best of luck with your action!

Best Bet: Rays (-154)

Anytime we can get Shane McClanahan, who's the odds-on favorite for the AL Cy Young Award (+350) at Caesars, at less than -200 odds we're jumping on it. The 26-year-old lefty is 8-1 on the season with an ERA of only 2.07 and a WHIP of only 1.15. He struck out 9 and allowed only 1 run against Boston back in April.

Boston will counter with Brayan Bello, who has some good stuff and has been solid of late. The 24-year-old right-hander has struggled versus Tampa in his career, however. He's 0-1 with a 10.13 ERA in 2 starts against the Rays. Bello also has a hard-hit rate of 50.4%, which is much higher than the MLB average of 38.5%.

We don't like laying this much juice, but the Rays are the best team in baseball. Look for Yandy Diaz, who leads the club with 12 home runs and a .312 batting average, to have a big day in this one. Let's Go Rays!

Best Bet: Marlins (-158)

Faithful readers of our column know that we've done quite well fading the A's and Royals so far this season. We'll fade KC again tonight with Braxton Garrett and the Marlins. Garrett has been on a roll over his last 3 starts with a 0.84 WHIP and an ERA of only 1.62.

Miami has been a pleasant surprise in the NL East, as they're 32-28 and 18-13 at home so far this year. Kansas City, on the other hand, is 18-41 and just 9-18 on the road. The Marlins also have a much better bullpen than the Royals, which could come in handy during the late innings.

The Marlins rank 6th in batting average and 16th in OPS. The Royals rank 25th and 27th in those categories, respectively. Jorge Soler leads the Fish with 17 home runs and 36 RBI. Luis Arraez continues to lead the majors in batting average with a .392 clip. We'll lay the medium price with Miami.
