After splitting a pair of picks our last time out, we're now 58-48 on the year. The Marlins cashed in for us pretty easily over the Royals. Unfortunately, the Rangers were shut out by the Cardinals to keep us from a profitable evening.
After a few days off, we're chomping at the bit to get back in the game. Let's get back to winning with 2 MLB Best Bets for Monday, June 12. Good luck with all of your action.
Why in the world are the Reds an underdog in this game? Sure, Luke Weaver scares the daylights out of any bettor that backs him, but it's not like Zack Greinke is exactly setting the world on fire either.
Kansas City has lost 6 in a row and has only won 1 of their last 10 ball games. The lowly Royals are 9-23 at home this season and they rank 27th in runs scored and 28th in OPS. Even with a small edge in starting pitching, KC shouldn't be the favorite in this matchup.
Cincy continues to be one of the scrappiest teams in the majors. The Reds just took 2 of 3 from the Cardinals and 2 of 3 from the Dodgers. Their young lineup is even more powerful now that Elly De La Cruz has been called up. The 21-year-old phenom is batting .364 with a homer and 3 stolen bases in just 6 games.
Give us the better hitting team with the much better bullpen at the underdog price. Let's play on the Red Legs!
Miami has cashed for us quite a few times this season, but we're fading them tonight against Seattle. Jesus Luzardo is a tough guy to bet against, but the Mariners hit lefties quite well (5.06 runs per game). Even though the Marlins are in better current form, we think this is a good "Sell High" spot against them.
The M's will send Bryce Miller to the hill tonight and he's 3-3 on the year with a WHIP of only 0.97. The 24-year-old rookie has struck out 33 hitters in 38.1 innings of work and he doesn't walk a lot of guys. Miller has been roughed up his last 2 starts, but that was against powerful offenses (Rangers and Yankees).
We also trust Seattle's bullpen a little more than Miami's. Mariner relievers have a better ERA, WHIP, and batting averaged against. Give us the better overall team and a fairly discounted price.
