We’re officially entering the most wonderful time of the year. The holidays are just around the corner, and for college football fans, the sheer amount of bowls and chaos is just what the doctor ordered to close out the year.
Bowls are starting this weekend, with one of the first bowls being between South Alabama and Western Michigan in the Salute to Veterans Bowl. We’re excited for the first bowl game of the year, and had to put together our favorite player props from the action, all of which are found on Underdog!
South Alabama is an 8.5-point favorite, but with a projected over/under of nearly 60 points, we’re hoping for some massive offensive performances in this one, which are reflected in our props. Let’s get into it!
Jamaal Pritchett is a certified beast. He has a great connection with Gio Lopez, and we believe this duo is going to have a field day. Prichett is a recipient of over 25% of Lopez’s targets and accounts for a lot of South Alabama’s receiving yards every week.
He’s had over 85 receiving yards in five straight games, and in a nationally televised matchup, look for Pritchett to put his stamp on this game and accrue at least 88 receiving yards.
Kentrel Bullock is a crapshoot of a play depending on the week. He can sometimes pop for games over 100 yards like he’s done three times this season, but he has put up several low-floor games that instill doubt in his ability to get it done consistently.
We noticed that, when Bullock had his games of over 100 yards, he had at least one rushing attempt that went for 20 yards. He seems to get a lot of his yardage on big plays, but if Western Michigan stops him on those, we are confident that Bullock will hit the under on his rushing yardage prop, which is why we’re going under, here.
Anthony Sambucci has proven to be a deep ball threat for Western Michigan, a weapon for Hayden Wolff to use at his disposal.
We didn’t want to take Sambucci’s overall yardage prop given his inconsistency, but considering how many times he’s racked up 20+ yard receptions this year, it made sense to grab this fun prop, hoping he’ll have at least one catch for 17+ yards.
