Hello, college football fans! Welcome to another day of Bowl Game action, giving us all something extra to look forward to this fine Thursday! There is not a Thursday Night Football game tonight, giving all the attention to the Tax Slayer Gator Bowl.
Notre Dame and Georgia are facing off earlier in the day due to the tragedy that took place in New Orleans yesterday, but for now, we’re just going to focus on the matchup between Duke and Ole Miss. We put our favorite player props together ahead of this contest, all of which can be found on Underdog. Let’s get into it!
This game could get ugly quickly. Ole Miss is a 17.5-point favorite in this game, an indication that oddsmakers are confident in their ability to dominate from the jump. Duke had a decent season by their standards, but Dart has been so good this year, and with one more opportunity to showcase what he can do in the bright lights, we expect him to light it up against them.
Duke only allowed 202 yards per game in the regular season, which might incline some people to take the under on Dart, but their competition wasn’t exactly top-notch this season. Look for Dart to, well, throw a lot of darts in this game, easily achieving the 273-yard mark.
Ole Miss will be without Tre Harris in this game, their leading receiver from the regular season. However, they seem to be great adopters of the “next man up” approach, and Cayden Lee has done well when he’s been asked to be the No. 1 receiver in this offense.
He put up 94 yards against Florida, and had great success against Georgia on November 19th, racking up 81 yards on four receptions. Lee and Dart have continued to establish a strong connection, and we believe this duo could thrive against Duke, which is why we’re taking the over on Lee’s receiving yards.
Duke fans were frustrated when Maalik Murphy transferred to Oregon, and rightfully so. He was a great QB for them all year but with the emergence of NIL and an opportunity to play for a team with a slightly brighter future, it seemed to be the right decision for Murphy and his family.
This left Duke without their top-tier starter for this game, but they’re turning to Henry Belin IV as their signal caller. We’re not sure what to think of the sophomore QB, but since there’s effectively no tape on him, we’re going to take the under on his passing yards, needing to see it to believe it from him, especially since he’s making his debut in a bowl game.
