As Bowl Game season is around the corner, let’s take a look at some marquee matchups and early bets, including an away game victory for the Clemson Tigers.
We've got three college football best bets below. Good luck, folks!

Texas Longhorns | ![]() +3.5 (-128) | ![]() +120 | ![]() O 51.5 (-110) |
Ohio State Buckeyes | ![]() -3.5 (104) | ![]() -137 | ![]() U 50.5 (-110) |

The 10-3 Clemson Tigers are getting hot at exactly the right time, while the 11-2 Longhorns are trending in the opposite direction. Texas has scored 20 or fewer points in three of their last four games, including the SEC Championship where offense was tough to come by for both teams.
After a rough outing from Ewers and a shocking victory for the Bulldogs' backup quarterback, the momentum is against Texas even in a CFB Playoff home game. While the spread at +11.5 is a number to watch, I’m going to put my money on Dabo and Cade Klubnik.
After a tough loss to South Carolina, the Clemson QB bounced back with a four-touchdown game against SMU to send his squad through to the playoff with some help on the backend from Syracuse’s upset victory over Miami the week prior.
Overall, this Clemson offense will be able to keep up with the Texas offense which is why a double digit point spread feels shaky if you are a Texas fan and bettor. OUR BET: Clemson ML (+370)
Saturday, August 30 at 2:00 PM | Spread | Money | Total |
Tennessee Volunteers | ![]() -12.5 (-110) | ![]() -385 | ![]() O 55.5 (-110) |
Syracuse Orange | ![]() +12.5 (-110) | +330 | ![]() U 55.5 (-110) |

The Fran Brown led Syracuse Orange are travelling across the country to San Diego to take on the Pac 12 ‘leader’ in Washington State in the Holiday Bowl. While this is the furthest location Syracuse could have asked for, they should be the heavy favorite heading into this one with Kyle McCord, LeQuint Allen, and their full receiving core opting into this bowl game to give the Orange and Brown a 10-win season.
With the buzz around that campus regarding this football team, a 10 win season is going to mean more than what Washington State has on the table. With that being said, Syracuse has put up 30+ points in 9 of their 12 outings this season.
The Cougars have allowed 30+ points in 5 of their 12 games in their season. After sitting inside the top 25 and then losing their last three games, this is blowout territory as Fran Brown continues to put the Syracuse football program back on the map. OUR BET: Syracuse -11.5
Sunday, August 31 at 1:00 PM | Spread | Money | Total |
Virginia Tech Hokies | ![]() +10 (-110) | ![]() +320 | O 46.5 (-108) |
South Carolina Gamecocks | ![]() -10 (-110) | ![]() -335 | ![]() U 45.5 (-110) |
December 31 | 3:00PM EST
The Gamecocks are entering the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl on a six game win streak with wins over Clemson, Missouri, Vandy, and Texas A&M. After barely missing out on the CFP due to three losses earlier in the year (LSU, Ole Miss, Bama), the South Carolina Gamecocks are entering this game with a chip on their shoulder - or a Cheez-It if you will.
Illinois on the other hand couldn’t get past any of the top 15 teams they faced earlier in the season, getting run off the field against Penn State and Oregon before losing as a favorite to Minnesota. Since then, they have barely gotten past Rutgers and Northwestern which prompts questions heading into this bowl game against SC.
The Fighting Illini haven’t seen an opposing QB quite like LaNorris Sellers, who has tallied 655 yards and 7 TDs on the ground this year including 16 carries for 166 yards and two scores against Clemson their last time out. The Gamecocks rush game will be too much for Illinois on the 31st. OUR BET: South Carolina -9.5
