College bowl season is officially here, which is among the most exciting times of year for college football fans. From now until mid-January, it seems like there will be some sort of football on TV every day, giving fans ample games to tune into.
One of the most highly anticipated games of every season is the Army-Navy game, which is taking place on Saturday. This always ends up being a hard-fought one, and we’re excited to see this year’s edition. With that in mind, let’s get into our favorite Underdog player props from this game, hoping to sweep the board in this highly viewed affair.
Blake Horvath UNDER 108.5 Passing Yards
If you don’t watch much college football, especially not many Navy games, you might think that this line is far too low for a starting quarterback at any level. However, Blake Horvath is a dual-threat QB, and he would much rather take off on the run than stay in the pocket, which lends itself to limited passing opportunities.
Three of his past four games have yielded performances under 100 yards, and we’re anticipating another down game from him against Army. The lights will be shining brightly in this contest; we just can’t trust Horvath to deliver for us.
Cale Hellums OVER 63.5 Passing Yards
If you thought Horvath’s line was low, take a peek at Hellums’! He’s even more of a dual threat than Horvath and has had 90+ rushing yards in six straight games.
Both of these QBs like to run, but at some point, Hellums will have to throw the ball in this one if Army wants any chance of winning this game. It might not be pretty, but we do anticipate that he’ll have at least 64 passing yards by the end of this one, so we are taking the over on this total.
Alex Tecza OVER 66.5 Rushing Yards
With Horvath being such a dual threat, it might seem counterproductive for us to take the over on the rushing yards for one of his running backs. However, Alex Tecza has come alive in the past two games for Navy, rushing for over 100 yards in both contests.
It’s clear that this team wants to get him the ball in key situations, and when is a better time for it than a game like this? We love Tecza’s odds of having at least 80 yards in this one, so we’ll gladly take the over on his rushing total at 66.5.
