Commanders vs Chiefs: Three Player Prop Bets And Our Best Bet For Monday’s Game

Before the season began, tonight’s Monday Night Football game featuring the Washington Commanders (3-4) heading west to face the Kansas City Chiefs (4-3) looked like a potential midseason showdown of two Super Bowl contenders.

Neither team has lived up to that hype thus far. The Commanders have lost two straight, including an embarrassing 44-22 defeat to the Dallas Cowboys. Kansas City has improved since opening the season 0-2, but the Chiefs’ loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars came in their last Monday Night Football contest.

Can the Commanders survive a trip to Arrowhead on Monday? We’ll cover that and provide bettors with our top three player props from this intriguing primetime matchup.

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes OVER 274.5 Passing Yards

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is thriving in 2025 despite missing multiple starters over the course of the season. Tonight, Kansas City faces a Commanders’ pass defense that is among the league’s worst, yielding 238 yards per outing.

Mahomes shines brightest in big-game situations. In 13 appearances on Monday Night Football, the quarterback is averaging over 285 passing yards per contest. He’s eclipsed 275 yards in eight MNF games, and bettors should expect he’ll do it again tonight against the Commanders.

Washington Commanders QB Marcus Mariota OVER 29.5 Rushing Yards

Washington will start quarterback Marcus Mariota on Monday after Jayden Daniels suffered a hamstring injury in Week 7. It isn’t Mariota’s first time starting this season. The 31-year-old veteran has been called upon three times, winning one of his two starts this year.

Mariota’s dual-threat nature mirrors Daniels’ abilities, allowing the Commanders to keep the same game plan. But that’s where the comparisons should stop because Daniels is a unique backfield creator who has few peers.

The Chiefs have allowed four opposing quarterbacks to run for at least 30 yards in a single contest. Mariota will become the fifth player to do so on Monday night, covering his rushing prop bet total.

Kansas City Chiefs WR Rashee Rice OVER 65.5 Receiving Yards

Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice made a big splash in his return to action last week. After serving his suspension, Rice showed his worth by nabbing seven of his 10 targets for 42 yards and two touchdowns.

Tonight, Rice will face a much harder secondary than the Raiders offered last week. Only five receivers have finished above 66 yards on the Commanders, including CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens in the previous game. Bettors should expect him to become the sixth player on this list; take the over on this player prop wager.

Best Bet: Washington (+11.5)

When the Chiefs win, the squad is winning big. All four of Kansas City’s victories have been by 13 or more points. That’s why oddsmakers have an 11.5-point spread for this Monday Night Football contest.

Even without Daniels, the Commanders have lost all but one of their games by fewer than 10 points. The Cowboys’ contest looks more like an aberration than an indication of where Washington is as a franchise. That’s why bettors should take the NFC East squad to make this a competitive game until the final buzzer sounds.
