3 Best Props to Back for Eagles vs Commanders on Sunday Night Football

Two rookies and a veteran headline our best-of-the-board props for Eagles vs Commanders on Sunday Night Football: Makai Lemon, Antonio Williams and Stefon Diggs.

Sunday Night Football brings two struggling NFC East teams to Northwest Stadium, with the Philadelphia Eagles (2-5) visiting the Washington Commanders (1-4-1) at 8:20 PM ET on NBC and Peacock. Washington is a 5.5-point favorite, and with Jalen Hurts on injured reserve and Terry McLaurin done for the season, this one is shaping up to be more about the supporting casts than the stars.

That is exactly where the best prop value tends to hide. Two rookies and one veteran with something to prove are all in the middle of expanded roles, and the market is still catching up. We are skipping the quarterbacks and running backs and going straight to the best of the board: Makai Lemon, Antonio Williams and Stefon Diggs.

Here is where the market sits on the game itself before we get to the props.

Makai Lemon Is Becoming McKee’s Favorite Target

With DeVonta Smith and Dontayvion Wicks both out, Lemon is the top wide receiver in Philadelphia for the second straight game. The first-round rookie has quietly stacked up work every week, and last Monday against Dallas he turned in a career night: seven catches for 67 yards and his first NFL touchdown on eight targets from Tanner McKee.

The season-long numbers (25 catches on 36 targets for 194 yards) look modest, but they include weeks when he was a complementary piece. Now he is the focal point of a passing offense that has to throw to move the ball. Washington ranks near the bottom of the league against the pass, giving up roughly 254 yards a game through the air, and McKee has shown a clear willingness to get the ball into Lemon’s hands in space, where he is tough to bring down.

The number to beat is 43.5 receiving yards, with the reception line sitting at 4.5. Lemon has cleared his yardage number in three of seven games, but the role has changed dramatically in the last two weeks. If he gets even eight targets again, the over is very live.

Antonio Williams Is the Under-the-Radar Rookie

Washington’s own rookie receiver is the sneakiest name on the board. Antonio Williams, the number 14 wideout, was already a part of the rotation before McLaurin went down with a torn patellar tendon, and now he is a true second option for Jayden Daniels. He has been splitting snaps between the slot and the perimeter, which makes him hard to scheme against.

He has also done this to Philadelphia before. In Week 1, Williams caught four passes for 64 yards and a touchdown against this exact defense. Since then his lines have been 24, 15, 21, 31 and 50 yards, trending up as his target share grows, and his season average is 7.9 yards per target. The Eagles have slipped to 26th against the pass and just got torched by Dallas receivers last Monday.

Most books have his receiving yards at 33.5, with some numbers as low as 30.5 and as high as 36.5, so shop around and grab the lowest number you can find. If you prefer a bigger payoff on a single play, his longest reception prop of 17.5 yards is a nice alternative. He only needs one chunk play to get there.

Stefon Diggs Takes Over as Washington’s Top Option

Diggs is the headliner of this passing game now. He is the WR24 in fantasy points per game with a 20.9 percent target share, five red zone targets and four deep targets on the season. Before the bye he caught six of seven targets for 44 yards and his fourth touchdown of the year against San Francisco. He sat out Wednesday with a hand and hamstring designation that was labeled a rest day, and he was a full participant after that.

The matchup is a good one. Philadelphia has allowed the most receiving fantasy points per game to slot receivers over its last five games and has been giving up around 185 yards a game to wideouts. Diggs lines up all over the formation, which is a nightmare for a defense that struggles with communication in coverage.

His receiving yards prop is 42.5 with the reception number at 4.5, and he has been hovering right around that mark over the last month. The touchdown angle is just as appealing, since Diggs is priced at +210 to score anytime, one of the shorter prices on the board for a non-running back. For a standard bet, we like the yardage over, and the anytime touchdown is the fun upgrade for anyone who wants a bigger swing.

The Best of the Board for Sunday Night

Whether you shop player prop search tools or compare lines by hand, odds shopping matters on props this small because a single yard can change the result. Here are the three plays we are backing, with lines that were posted as of Saturday.

  • Makai Lemon OVER 43.5 receiving yards
  • Antonio Williams OVER 33.5 receiving yards (or longest reception OVER 17.5)
  • Stefon Diggs OVER 42.5 receiving yards (anytime touchdown at +210 as the longer shot)

Two rookies and a veteran, all in bigger roles than the numbers suggest, against a pass defense that has been leaking all season. Enjoy the game and bet responsibly.
