Novig Review

By Matthew Brown · Updated August 28, 2026 · Fact-checked by Mike Noblin

Novig is one of the strongest prediction market options for sports bettors, combining familiar sportsbook-style markets with the ability to set your own price and trade directly against other users. Fee-free pregame straight trading and the current $25 welcome offer make it particularly appealing for users who want a sports-first alternative to traditional betting apps.

Novig is one of the most interesting new options for sports bettors moving into prediction markets. Instead of taking fixed odds from a traditional sportsbook, Novig operates as a peer-to-peer exchange where users trade sports event contracts against one another and the market determines the price.

The platform is particularly easy to understand if you already bet on sports. Novig offers familiar markets such as moneylines, spreads, totals, player props and futures, but wraps them in an exchange model that allows you to either accept the available price or post the price you are willing to trade at.

Novig also has one of the better offers currently available to new prediction market users. New customers who deposit at least $10 can receive $25 in Trade Credits, giving you $35 in total starting buying power from the minimum qualifying deposit.

What Is Novig?

Novig is a federally regulated sports prediction market operated by Ludlow Exchange, LLC. Ludlow Exchange was designated as a Designated Contract Market by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission in June 2026, moving Novig into the same broad federal regulatory framework used by other U.S. event-contract exchanges.

That distinction is important. Novig is not simply another online sportsbook with different branding. When you make a trade, Novig is facilitating a market between participants rather than acting as the bookmaker taking the opposite side of every wager.

Prices are expressed through event contracts. A contract ultimately settles based on the result of the underlying sporting event, while its price before settlement reflects what traders are currently willing to pay for that outcome.

For sportsbook users, however, the learning curve is fairly small. The underlying questions are still familiar: Who wins? Does a team cover? Does the game go over the total? Will a player exceed a statistical threshold? The biggest difference is how the price is created and how you interact with it.

How Novig Works

There are two primary ways to trade on Novig: Take and Make.

  • Take: Accept a price already available in the market. The trade executes immediately when sufficient liquidity is available.
  • Make: Choose the price you want and post an order to the market. Your trade is completed if another participant accepts the other side.

This is one of the biggest advantages of an exchange model. At a sportsbook, you generally choose whether to accept the line being offered or go somewhere else. Novig lets you effectively name your price and wait to see if another trader is willing to meet it.

The tradeoff is that a Make order is not guaranteed to fill. If you request a price that is too far away from the current market, the event could start or the market could move before another user accepts your order.

What Sports Can You Trade on Novig?

Novig is heavily focused on sports, which is one of the reasons we think it is such a natural entry point for people coming from DraftKings, FanDuel or another traditional sportsbook.

Its current sports coverage includes:

  • Professional football
  • College football
  • Professional baseball
  • College baseball
  • Professional basketball
  • Men’s and women’s college basketball
  • Women’s professional basketball
  • Professional hockey
  • Golf
  • Men’s and women’s professional tennis
  • MMA

The actual selection varies by season, but Novig already covers most of the sports that generate the bulk of U.S. betting volume.

Novig Football Markets

Football is where Novig should feel particularly familiar to sportsbook users. Available single-game markets can include:

  • Moneylines
  • Point spreads
  • Game totals
  • First-half moneylines, spreads and totals
  • Team totals
  • Player props

Novig also offers longer-term football contracts, including playoff qualification, regular-season win totals, division and conference winners, championship markets and individual season awards.

That depth makes Novig much more useful as a sportsbook alternative than a prediction market carrying only basic game-winner contracts.

Novig Parlays

Novig supports parlays in addition to straight event contracts. They work somewhat differently from the platform’s normal order-book trades because parlays are offered at a quoted all-in price rather than allowing users to post their own parlay price through the app.

For casual sports bettors, that makes the experience considerably more familiar. You can combine multiple outcomes into a single position without needing to understand the mechanics of an exchange order book for every leg.

There is an important pricing distinction, however: while pregame straight trades are currently fee-free, Novig charges a fee on parlays. That cost is already incorporated into the parlay price displayed before you submit the trade.

Novig Fees

Fees are one of Novig’s strongest selling points, particularly for users who primarily trade straight pregame sports markets.

Pregame straight trades made through the Novig app or website currently have no trading fee. Maker orders are also fee-free across Novig’s current fee schedule.

Fees primarily apply to:

  • Live straight trades when you are the taker
  • Parlays

Novig calculates applicable trading fees using the contract price and number of contracts. The fee is highest around a 50% probability and becomes smaller as a contract moves toward either extreme.

The platform displays applicable fees before you confirm a straight trade. For parlays, the fee is incorporated into the quoted price.

For someone who normally bets straight pregame spreads, totals and moneylines at a sportsbook, Novig’s lack of a trading fee on those transactions is a significant advantage. You still need to compare the actual market price, but there is no traditional bookmaker hold automatically embedded in the transaction in the same way as a conventional -110 sportsbook market.

Novig Live Trading

Novig also offers live or in-game markets, allowing prices to move as an event unfolds. Live markets are one place where the exchange format becomes especially noticeable because prices can change quickly based on both the action on the field and activity from other traders.

Live straight trades are subject to a taker fee when you immediately accept existing liquidity. A resting Maker order that another participant later fills remains fee-free under Novig’s current schedule.

Can You Cash Out on Novig?

Yes. Novig supports cash outs on eligible straight positions.

Unlike a discretionary sportsbook cash-out offer, the value is based on the current market price for your contracts. If the price has moved in your favor, your position may be worth more than you originally paid. If it has moved against you, it may be worth less.

In practical terms, Novig closes the position by executing an offsetting trade on the other side of your original position.

Cash out is not currently available on every type of trade. Parlays and live player props are excluded, and sufficient liquidity must exist for Novig to generate a current exit price.

Novig App and User Experience

Novig does a good job of making exchange trading look and feel approachable to sports bettors. You do not need to be an experienced financial trader to figure out the platform, and the ability to simply take an available price keeps the process straightforward for beginners.

More experienced users can dig deeper into the order book and use Make orders to seek a better entry price. That gives Novig an unusual combination: it can operate almost like a sportsbook for someone who wants to make a quick trade, while still providing more control to users who care about price.

We particularly like that Novig’s product remains sports-first. Prediction markets can become cluttered with contracts covering politics, economics, entertainment and virtually every other category imaginable. Novig feels much more purpose-built for someone whose primary interest is sports.

Novig Deposits

Novig currently supports several funding options, including bank transfers, credit and debit cards, Apple Pay and stablecoin deposits.

Payment choice matters because deposit fees vary:

  • Bank transfer: No deposit fee
  • Stablecoin deposits: No deposit fee
  • Credit card: 3% processing fee
  • Debit card: 3% processing fee
  • Apple Pay: 3% processing fee

Stablecoin funding currently supports USDC and USDT through Coinflow. Users who prefer conventional banking can use supported bank-transfer options instead.

For most players, a fee-free bank transfer is the more economical choice, particularly when making larger deposits.

Novig Withdrawals

Novig allows users to withdraw eligible account funds, including proceeds generated from winning trades made with promotional Trade Credits.

Most withdrawal requests are processed automatically. Novig says withdrawals can sometimes be processed within minutes when no additional review is necessary, although some transactions are sent through manual compliance review. Those reviews are generally completed within 24 hours but can take 24 to 48 hours during periods of heavier volume.

Is Novig Legal?

Novig operates through Ludlow Exchange, LLC, a Commodity Futures Trading Commission-regulated Designated Contract Market. That means the platform operates under federal commodities regulation rather than the state-by-state sports wagering licensing system used by traditional sportsbooks.

This regulatory structure is also why Novig can be available in many places where conventional online sports betting is not.

What States Is Novig Available In?

Novig currently operates throughout most of the United States. The platform is unavailable to users physically located in:

  • Arizona
  • Michigan
  • Nevada

Eligibility is based on where you are physically located when using the platform rather than your permanent state of residence. That means someone who lives in an eligible state cannot trade while visiting an excluded jurisdiction, while a resident of an excluded state may be able to trade when physically present in an eligible location.

Users must be at least 21 years old and complete identity verification before trading.

Novig Identity Verification

Because Novig is a regulated real-money exchange, new users must complete identity verification.

You can expect to provide information including your legal name, date of birth, address, phone number and potentially the last four digits of your Social Security number. Novig may also request a current U.S. driver’s license or state-issued ID if additional verification is necessary.

For users whose information can be verified automatically, the process can be completed almost immediately.

Novig Promo Code EWB1

New users can take advantage of our current Novig promo code EWB1 offer and deposit $10 to receive $25 in Trade Credits.

The $25 bonus is divided into five individual $5 Trade Credits. Each credit can be used toward an eligible Novig trade, with a maximum of one Trade Credit applied to a single transaction.

The credits cannot themselves be withdrawn, but proceeds from a trade made using a Trade Credit become ordinary account funds after settlement and can be withdrawn under Novig’s normal withdrawal rules. There is no additional playthrough requirement after the qualifying trade.

Novig Pros and Cons

What We Like About Novig

  • Sports-first platform: Novig has built its product around the sports markets sportsbook users actually want.
  • No fees on pregame straight trades: This is one of the most attractive parts of the current pricing model.
  • Make your own price: Users can post an order rather than automatically accepting the market’s current price.
  • Live markets and player props: The product goes considerably deeper than simple winner contracts.
  • Parlays: Novig provides a familiar multi-selection option for traditional sports bettors.
  • Broad U.S. availability: Novig can be accessed in most states, including many without legal online sportsbooks.
  • Strong welcome offer: A $10 qualifying deposit unlocks $25 in Trade Credits for eligible new users.

Where Novig Could Improve

  • Liquidity can vary: As with any peer-to-peer exchange, less popular markets may not always have the depth available at the biggest platforms.
  • Some transactions carry fees: Live taker trades and parlays are not included in Novig’s fee-free pregame straight-trade structure.
  • Not available everywhere: Arizona, Michigan and Nevada are currently excluded.
  • Exchange terminology takes some adjustment: Makers, takers and contract prices may initially feel less intuitive to users accustomed exclusively to American sportsbook odds.

Novig vs. a Traditional Sportsbook

The biggest difference between Novig and a sportsbook comes down to who is on the other side of the transaction.

A traditional sportsbook creates a betting market, posts odds and generally takes the opposing financial exposure. Novig operates an exchange where participants trade against one another and prices emerge from supply and demand.

That creates several advantages. You can post your own price, potentially exit positions before settlement, and trade pregame straight markets without a transaction fee under Novig’s current pricing structure.

The drawback is that an exchange depends more directly on liquidity. A sportsbook can generally choose to accept your bet immediately, while a Make order on Novig needs another participant willing to take the opposite side at your requested price.

Who Should Use Novig?

We think Novig makes the most sense for sports bettors who care about price and want more control than a standard sportsbook provides.

It is also one of our favorite introductions to prediction markets for someone who has never used one before. The sports and market types are recognizable, the interface does not require you to become a professional trader, and you can start by simply taking available prices before experimenting with Make orders.

Users primarily interested in political, economic and entertainment prediction markets will find broader selections elsewhere. Novig’s strength is sports, and we think leaning into that specialization is a feature rather than a weakness.

Our Novig Review: The Verdict

Novig is one of the strongest prediction market options we’ve tested for dedicated sports bettors. It combines the familiar markets of an online sportsbook with the pricing flexibility of a peer-to-peer exchange, and the current fee structure is particularly compelling for straight pregame traders.

There are still areas where larger prediction markets may have an advantage, particularly overall liquidity and non-sports market depth. But if your primary goal is trading football, basketball, baseball and other major U.S. sports, Novig belongs near the top of the list.

The current new-user offer makes it even easier to test the platform. Eligible new customers can use Novig promo code EWB1, deposit at least $10 and receive $25 in Trade Credits.
