New Jersey’s gaming market posted its strongest April performance in more than a decade, with total revenue reaching $600.8 million during April 2026 — a 12 percent year-over-year increase from the $536.6 million recorded in April 2025. The figures were released in mid-May by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement and mark a milestone month for Atlantic City and its digital gaming partners.
Online casino gaming led the growth, generating $263.1 million in April — a gain of 11.9 percent year over year. Land-based casino revenue rose 11.7 percent to $235.6 million, marking Atlantic City’s strongest April for in-person gaming since 2012, according to the New Jersey Council on Compulsive Gambling’s citation of gaming enforcement comments. Sports betting rounded out the total at $102.1 million, up 12.8 percent from April 2025.
FanDuel Dominates Sports Betting
Among sports betting operators in New Jersey, FanDuel continued its market leadership with $39.7 million in April revenue, a 25 percent year-over-year increase, bringing its year-to-date total to $147.1 million. DraftKings posted $25.7 million for the month, up 15 percent from a year ago. Fanatics scored $9 million in April to claim third place in the year-to-date standings, while BetMGM finished just short of $9 million. Bet365 generated $7.3 million, a 30 percent year-over-year jump that signals continued growth for the UK-based operator’s US presence.
Every licensed operator in New Jersey finished in the black for April, reflecting the strong hold percentage operators achieved during the month. The 11 percent hold rate — versus a 6.6 percent hold in April 2025 — was a significant driver of the revenue increase independent of handle growth. New Jersey bettors wagered $932.4 million during April, the second month under $1 billion after two $1 billion-plus handle months earlier in 2026. iGaming Extends Record Run
New Jersey’s online casino revenue surpassed $1 billion in year-to-date revenue faster than in any prior year, according to comments from New Jersey Casino Control Commission members. Internet gaming recorded its third-best monthly result on record in April. The state has now reported eight consecutive months in which online casino revenue exceeded in-person casino revenue — a structural shift that continues to reframe how regulators, legislators, and operators think about the relative importance of digital and physical gaming in Atlantic City’s economy.
The $86.1 million in taxes generated from April’s total gaming revenue brings New Jersey’s 2026 year-to-date total past $332 million in state tax receipts. For players in the state, the breadth of licensed operators across both the New Jersey casino apps and sportsbook markets makes the state one of the best-served regulated gambling jurisdictions in the country.
