The only poker room in a downtown Las Vegas casino has a new home. Golden Nugget Las Vegas has opened a newly relocated and redesigned poker room, moving the venue to the Rush Tower lobby, with the room officially opening this week and a grand opening celebration planned for July 28.
The move gives poker players in the downtown Las Vegas market — long dominated by Strip properties for major cash games and tournaments — a refreshed venue that adds modern amenities without leaving the neighborhood’s most recognizable casino brand.
Nine Tables and Modern Amenities
The new room features nine tables with seating for up to 63 players and includes built-in USB-A and USB-C charging ports at every seat, a small but notable upgrade for players who spend hours at the table and want to keep phones charged during long sessions. The room also offers food and beverage service, including cocktail service and mobile food carts, so players can order without leaving their seats.
The new location provides easier access to the property’s self-parking garage, ride-share pickup area, and taxi stand, addressing a common complaint about older casino floor layouts that tuck poker rooms away from convenient entry points.
What It Means for Downtown Las Vegas Poker
Downtown Las Vegas has a smaller but loyal poker scene compared to the Strip, and Golden Nugget‘s investment in a redesigned room signals continued confidence in that market even as the broader Las Vegas casino industry works through a mixed 2026 marked by a Fourth of July tourism rebound alongside softer overall visitation earlier in the year. Players looking to check out the new setup can do so now, with the formal grand opening celebration scheduled for July 28.
