Caesars expands to Maine

Caesars Entertainment has expanded its tribal partnership in Maine to include online casino gaming, the company announced June 24, positioning itself for what could be one of the next major iGaming market launches in the United States. The expanded agreement with the Houlton Band of Maliseet Indians, the Mi’kmaq Nation, and the Penobscot Nation adds online casino to the existing sports betting relationship the companies formed when Caesars entered the Maine market in 2023.

Under the expanded deal, Caesars plans to launch three distinct casino brands in Maine: Caesars Palace Online Casino, Caesars Sportsbook and Casino, and Horseshoe Online Casino. Each brand targets a different segment of the player market, and all three would operate on a unified wallet infrastructure through Caesars’ Universal Digital Wallet, allowing seamless movement between sports betting and casino products under a single login.

What the Expansion Means for Maine

Maine’s online gambling landscape has been shaped significantly by tribal influence since the state legalized sports betting in 2022. The Wabanaki Nations hold a privileged position in the state’s gaming framework, and their partnership with Caesars gives the operator a structurally favorable path to any iGaming authorization that Maine legislators approve. No iGaming legislation has fully cleared Maine’s statehouse yet, but the agreement positions both parties to move quickly if and when it does.

Caesars said the partnership will include meaningful investment in tribal communities, with commitments to employ and train members of each nation and direct financial support to tribal programs. The company framed the arrangement as a model for responsible digital gaming expansion that circulates economic benefits within the communities that hold the gaming rights.

A Growing U.S. iGaming Pipeline

The Caesars-Maine announcement fits a broader pattern of operators pre-positioning in states where iGaming legislation is plausible in the near term. Several states with active tribal gaming compacts have seen elevated legislative interest in online casino bills following the tax revenue success stories from states like New Jersey, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. If Maine advances iGaming legislation, Caesars’ established tribal relationships and three ready-to-launch casino platforms give it a significant competitive head start on market entry.

In states where online casino is already live, players can explore Caesars Palace Online Casino through the Caesars promo code page or read a full Caesars review for a comprehensive breakdown of the platform’s current offerings. Those interested in the broader iGaming landscape can find state-by-state availability through the Michigan casino apps and New Jersey casino apps pages.
